    Oliver 1365

    I am considering picking up a 2WD Oliver 1365 to rebuild a 4WD 1365. I am wondering if the Transmition and engine are the same minute the transfer case and front axle. It's harder to find the 4wd units. Anyone that can let me know if they are mostly the same or not would be greatful.

    Yes. I was trying to get the axle out of the housing. I am at the knuckle or where the 2 u joints are. I removed the retaining screw on the back of the axle housing. I did not want to force anything and the shop manual does not show the best.

    That is why I stopped were I did. It kept taking me deeper and deeper. I stopped at the u joints. The knuckle was filled with all sorts of stuff. But everything looks tight. I am putting it away for the winter and will continue next summer. Hoping to get her back to her glory. I am getting a...

    I went all the way to the u joints. The end of the axle got a little worn because the bushing was cooked. I could not get the axle out so I split the u joint and had it turned and a bushing made. Got the u joint back together and it's like new back to the u joints. I need to do the other side...

    Yes looked at the brake down. It's a little confusing. Is there a clip inside the housing. This is on a 1365.

    What is the best fluid for the front planetarys? Is gear oil better than hydraulic oil?

    Looking for information on how to get the front axle out. I am at the u joints and have removed the set sçrew from the axle housing. Am I missing something?

    Looking for information. On how to remove the front axel. I think you remove the set screw on the back side of the housing by the knuckle. I did this but can't get the axle to come out. Any advice would be great.

    Russell, I have not but I am going to look in to them. I have been rebuilding the planetarys in the front end boy did I open up a can of warms. The good news is it's going to be like new all the way to the axle.
