    JD 1020 Front Wheel Reversal

I realize that this is an older thread but I have the 6.00 x 16 wheels and with my front loader the front wheels want to sink easily in softer soil. I would like wider wheels and tires but the current ones are already close to the spindle upright. Does anyone have a suggestion of wider wheels /...

    OC3 Generator

Is there just one bolt on the adjuster? I assume that you loosen it up and turn it? What is the procedure? I am working on this for a friend.

    OC3 Generator

I am trying to install a rebuilt generator in an OC3 without loosening the fan belt and am having a hard time lining up the small pin in the back. Is this a possible task without having a loose fan belt? The fan pulley where I assume it is loosened is kinda boogered up and I am afraid that I...

    1948 C narrow front end

I am just wondering the best way to install the upper seal as the one that I am ordering from DJs only has the cork, not the retainer. I will have to be very careful to remove the original so that I can reuse the retainer. There also was a post to use a CR13568 seal for the upper. Has anyone...

Nevermind....it just took a little more persuasion than I was willing to apply initially.

    1948 C narrow front end

I removed the housing from the tractor and took the top gear off but it seems like the shaft doesn't want to come out. It rotates freely and there is plenty of grease. It looks like it should slide out on the schematic so I don't want to force it. Any ideas?

    1948 C narrow front end

Thanks, I was out of town earlier this week and ordered one off ebay. I see wheel bearings for sale but not the bearing and seal for the vertical shaft. What type of seal is in there as the owner said it wouldn't hold the fluid in the housing...thanks for any information.

    1948 C narrow front end

I am helping an older gentleman with his "C" and the other day the front axle sheared, and one wheel and hub fell off. Can anyone give me a source where I could find a new or used front axle for this tractor?

    Hard starting "C"

Nothing has changed with the valves. If I remember right they were just torqued to spec and there wasn't really any adjustment to them when we did the rings 5 years ago.

    Hard starting "C"

Ok, no improvements in starting yet other than it will start right up with a brand new set of plugs the first time and then it goes right back to starting hard. (Need hotter plug?) Another thing that was interesting is that if one plug wire was removed it would start.(more voltage for the other...

    Hard starting "C"

one more quick question on the carburetor. On the marvel, the main jet adjustment, does it meter gas, or air. I have only worked on carbs (car and small engines) that meter the fuel but he was told it is an air adjustment...On carbs that i have worked on, turning it in leaned the fuel and...

    Hard starting "C"

The starter was just rebuilt as it would kick out on the initial fire. But I do agree that maybe it is not spinning fast enough...thanks
