    318 JD P218G engine

    Start mowing at full throttle does just as should.After awhile mowing (20-mins)the engine starts running and surging at really high RPMS?I stop and let it cool down it starts it over again.

    Don't use a card or a piece of the paper it came in anymore.Invest in a feeler gauge set.Very inexpensive,and takes the "must be close enough" out of it.This worked well for the "older" engines but not these "new" ones.

    Is it engine oil smoke or black smoke.

    Surging on 12.5 briggs

    Go ahead and pull that carb off.Not a big deal to take apart and clean it.U may have to get a bowl gasket thats all.

    Belt driven,and very easy to change if the PTO clutch comes off.Check the idlers well,and esp the v-belt pulley on the transaxle.They are prone to wear out the splines on the pulley.Does not damage the input shaft, just replace the pulley.Your machine will be back to normal.

    Fuel pump on JD 345

    Thats a mechanical fuel pump.Bolts to the front of the engine.Kawasaki should supply this pump at a much better price.These pumps should be universal within the Kawasaki engines.

    Got finished mowing.Drove back to the house and switched it off.Got ready to put it away for the night and it has no power on the dash, no starter, just dead.I checked battery connections and still nothing.Any thoughts?
