    Custom Powr-Trol Cylinder Lift Issues

The 730 was running about 1800 psi when I checked it. I may try shimming the relief valve on the 830 a little more but I'm not sure how many shims are too many and I don't want to put a band aid on a bullet wound if I should be looking elsewhere for a problem.

    Custom Powr-Trol Cylinder Lift Issues

I already tried swapping the cylinder for a bigger one and that helped, but didn't cure it completely.

    Custom Powr-Trol Cylinder Lift Issues

Need a little advice from the Custom Powr-Trol experts out there. My 830 seems to have trouble lifting a chisel plow. I tried my 730 on it with the same cylinder and it lifts just fine. The only difference is that the 830 has dual hydraulics and the 730 does not. I have tried shimming up the...

    WD45 Diesel Oil Pressure

So edit on the relief valve, I found it hiding clear up under the injection pump once I got the right light and got down on a creeper. Took it out and things look good. I'm beginning to think maybe the best thing will be to drop the pan and see how clean the oil sump is, and plastigauge the...

    WD45 Diesel Oil Pressure

10-12 psi is the absolute best I can get out of it, cold at wide open throttle. From your last reply it makes me think pressure regulator then possibly. Next question, if it is the regulator, do all 45 diesels have an externally adjustable relief valve or are some of them a fixed pressure...

    WD45 Diesel Oil Pressure

I hooked my 60 psi gauge to the base on the front oil filter last night. With the oil warm enough for the dash gauge to drop off completely, I have a consistent 9-10 psi at the filter base at fast idle. Slow idle it drops to 2.5-3 psi and the needle bounces around quite a bit. Haven't...

    WD45 Diesel Oil Pressure

Having low oil pressure issues in a WD-45 diesel. It will read toward the low side of normal cold, then steadily drops completely off after the oil warms up, say after the first 10-15 minutes. I'm running 15-40 oil. I've tried a new and correctly calibrated gauge, checked the filter stems...

    60 PTO Pump Seals

I have the rockshaft housing off of my 60 to tighten up axle bearings and decided to replace the seals in the PTO pump housing while it was off. It still had the original AA5247R thick seal in the housing, which as you know subs to 2 AR1335R thinner seals. My question is, when I drove the old...

    Sump Screen Magnet

Wondered if any of you guys have ever used a magnet in your sump screen and what you thought of it. Our 4010's differential imploded and left us with a fair amount of metal filings in the transmission. Of course I cleaned out all I could but I know there is still going to be some in the system...

    Caterpillar 22 Clutch Adjustment

Hi all, I couldn't seem to get registered over on the ACMOC site, so thought I would give this one a try. I'm new to the Cat world, came home with a little 22 last week. It runs great, steers great, and pulls pretty well for the most part. Had it out with my pull type subsoiler yesterday and...

    1950 John Deere A?

Mike, unless the rear wheels have been changed I would guess your tractor to be a '51 or '52. Somewhere in early-to-mid-1950 was when Deere made the changeover to a single gearshift and square axle housings, but the round holes in the cast centers didn't come along until 1951. Also I see your...

    Early D Throttle Adjustment

Wondering if any of you guys have some advice on adjusting the throttle linkage on my 1930 D, and if you could post a picture of what yours looks like. I don't seem to be getting the proper RPM's/throttle response. Mine I know has the incorrect spring on it, but I have the right one ordered. Do...

70 Diesel Pony Motor Clutch Adjustment

Needing to tighten up the pony motor clutch on the old 70 Diesel. The service manual talks about adjusting the yoke that actually operates the clutch so the stop pin protrudes 1/16" with the lever at dead center, but doesn't seem to say a whole lot about whether there is any adjustment to the...

    Wd45 Engine Shims

Putting a clutch in our WD45 and as we were taking the motor mount bolts loose I found that the two front engine mounting bolts were completely gone. There was one shim sticking part way out from underneath the engine. Looked in my IT manual and it says to "vary shims to obtain proper engine to...
