    sorted it out ..was a bare wire in the harness by the starter so 5 cents electrical tape and off to the races here ..thanks for the help folks

    pulled ign switch and light stays on so I got something crossed up when I put wiring harness back on engine ...I have original service manual so will trace the wiring this weekend ..thanks for the tip on pulling the switch

    ok so I got the clutch repaired - the friction disc was coming apart as it had wore through the rivits - changed out throw out bearing and pilot bearing for good measure as they both original and the throw out bearing was a bit loose inside anyways it all back together and running great except...

    I was doing some work on Saturday and then the clutch doesnt want to fully disengage so I have to go to idle and bang it in there to shift ...not good long term solution I adjusted linkage so I have maximum throw but it still not disengageing fully?? did I break something or is it just wore...

    Got antifreeze from deere but its a diff color! is it ok?

    new antifreeze may have a detergent in it and thats what loosened up the old sludge from years in the block - radiator it the place it will collect - you may need to get your rad flushed and steamed to restore cooling capacity ...

    my 1520 with the 164 gas engine runs very well at PTO speed (2000) but lately it stumbles a bit if I under load and increase rpm to 2300 or so after 10 seconds or so it will smooth out. Is there a way to tell if its either carburetor or distrubutor is the culprit? I did full tune up last...

    Yes I know its a bit early but I am looking for a decent used snowblower for my 1520 - what should I be looking for? I'm thinking 72" width - do I have enough ponies for that ? - I live Northwestern Ontario about 20 minutes drive from International Falls MN so we get real winter here

    Loader hydraulics

    Ran tractor for 1 1/2 hours yesterday and no issues with loader hydraulics - nice and smooth and a bit faster then before - thanks for the advice - looks like it got me pointed in right direction
