    4450 injection pump

I'm gunna go out on a limb here. But,he can remove the square cover with 4 screws holding it down. That's the AFC cover. Turn that wheel all the in then back off quarter turn IIRC that'd make er smoke a bit. Smoke doesn't make power tho, a leaking intercooler boot will make any diesel smoke...

    4450 AC

I found the leak Tim. It was the HP switch that didn't get snugged after the HP hose got replaced last year. Pulled a vac on it at -28ish yesterday and it held for hour. Replaced the drier and recharged with 5 small cans of refrigerant and got a chilly 43F at the vents....All is well. Thanks...

    4450 AC

I found the leak. Last year the HP hose was replaced and the HP switch didn't get tighten up. As for the gauges going wacky it was caused by the Schrader valve in the suction hose on my gauge set. I removed that and now all is well. It pulled a vacuum down and held at -28ish for a hour and...

    4450 AC

Thanks Tim, Do you think I still have a leak somewhere because my AC gauge will hold 100 psi for 2 hrs but I cannot get it to vacuum down to neg 5 or below then my gauge will raise back up to almost 8 psi then hold for a minute thego down to negative 5 hold for a minute or two then climbs upto 8...

    4450 AC

The other day I had posted here on info about the AC on a 4450. It has the original Nipendenso compressor R12 fittings but I have a conversion fitting to use my 134a gauges. I had found a leak and corrected that. Pressurized the system with my shop air to 100 lbs from a adaptor that I had made...

    4450 AC

Why would they leave the old A6 compressor when they changed it over to R134a ? Seems they left the old system in amd done the 134a refrigerant...The drier has the sight glass in it also..

    4450 AC

Absolutely it will. But they don't want to buy a $3-400 bottle of nitrogen for one time deal..That's why the drier will be getting replaced...

    4450 AC

Hi Jim, on the above panel where the controlls are at. There's two lights that are on when the switch is on. I'm sure they're associated with the AC system as they have a AC symbol with a line in the lens....Not at the tractor at the moment but will verify later when I get home from work...

    4450 AC

I noticed there's only the high pressure switch and no low pressure switch. I will know more later today after work. Thanks for the help.

    4450 AC

Wore Out....Not sure exactly what's been done with the oil...I still has the A6 compressor and R12 fittings. The owner bought R12-134a fittings that I can adapt to with my 134a gauges. Is there a color difference between the two oils so I can differentiate the difference between the two...

    4450 AC

Hi guys, haven't been on here for a while but still lurk from time to time. Anyways, working on a friends 4450 with AC problems. Haven't really messed with the ac systems on these tractors in a long time but I noticed on the compressor it has one nipple with a schrader valve and the system has...

    4030 possible stuck engine

Morning Jim, If I recall its a 75. Dad had pulled the injectors the other day and got it to roll over quarter turn either direction then it would stop hard. Thinking a stuck valve. It did get water into the cylinders from a faulty muffler weld job several years ago. Darn it !!!

    4030 possible stuck engine

From what I've been told is that they tried rolling engine over with a tool of some sort up front by the hydraulic pump both directions and nothing. I bet its a seized piston or full of coolant. I hope not tho. But, since it was my Great Grandfathers tractor and has been in the family since new...

    4030 possible stuck engine

This 4030 has been sitting for a few years and I guess the owners are trying to get it started and put a new 1k CCA battery on it and the starter would just thud and not turn engine over. No coolant was seen in radiator either. Can this engine loose a gasket besides the obvious head gasket...
