    560 TA Replacement

Thanks for the diagram and info. Yes, I removed clip though I must admit I didn't notice it at first. I don't think the main clutch shaft has one. The shaft is free and moves. It's just the yoke that is stubborn. Anyway I will have to take a closer look regarding the key(s). I will work on...

    560 TA Replacement

I am in the process of replacing the TA in a 560. I am having difficulty removing the TA clutch shaft. The throwout bearing carrier does not want to budge on the shaft at all. I had a donor TA section that had the exact same problem and I had to cut the shaft. I assumed that carrier was just...

    Alternator Pulley 180

Update; Still waiting for snow(cover) to melt to retrieve pulley half. Strictly by chance I found a pulley blank at Tractor Supply that was about 5" diameter. I got it welded to the hub I have and works perfectly. Alternator RPM down a bit but still charges at idle. Tach reading down a bit too.

    Alternator Pulley 180

Thought of that but don't have access to one. I saw a cheap one on Amazon, wouldn't be here until Saturday.

    Alternator Pulley 180

Well here I am all set to plow some snow and 5 minutes and my alternator pulley decides to give up the ghost. And of course I can't find the half of the pulley that snapped off as it is buried in a pile of heavy snow. Else I'd weld it back together (the half I still have has the hub). Is a...

    4020 repower

Is the lack of lend due to the aneroid circuit on the Bosch pumps or because the cam profile is different in the 466's?

Help ID'ing a Massey Perkins block

Most of the 4/6 cylinder "newer" Perkins were 5" stroke which would make it a 236 cu in. which is a common size. I am not familiar with casting numbers so don't know if gas or diesel or if there was a difference. Hope it helps.

    4030 injector pump

Are you referring to the "special tool" I read about periodically for installing the umbrella shaft seal?

    175 Clutch linkage adjustment

Thank you for taking the time to take the detailed photos. I was pretty sure the gap was to be about 1/8". Your turnbuckle length won't help me as this tractor has independent PTO (only one stage to clutch pedal). Right now pedal is way high so if you push it down too far you hear the...

    175 Clutch linkage adjustment

Need to adjust clutch pedal/linkage on a 175 w/independent PTO. I don't have the manual. I believe there are 2 specs to shoot for in order to adjust correctly. First is the clutch shaft stop gap. I was thinking 1/8"-3/16". Can someone confirm the actual value. The other spec has to do with...

    Stumble/backfire when accelerating

Check points and also plug wires. Ignition is easier at idle, loaded ingition is harder and sometimes just enough harder to cause symptoms you describe if plugs, points, or wires not up to snuff. I am far from an expert, just my two cents.

    4020 4320 NFE

Question: Can a NFE from a 4020 fit a 4320? Thinking 4320 is not the same setup. TIA.

    265,283,310 Question

What year and/or models did the 265,283, and 310 engines gas AND diesel go from 4 mains to 7 and when did the 12 port heads come out? Thanks in advance!

    Fuel Pressure

The gauge is between the filter (shown) and injection pump. Upstream of the filter is the cam driven pump (transfer pump?) and that is gravity fed by tank with sediment bowl.

    Fuel Pressure

What is the normal pressure for this gauge? Reading 2 PSI at idle, engine is 310TD. I just changed the fuel filter next to it and I also cleaned the screen in the sediment bowl which was covered in goo (algae?) Now that screen is clean seems to run much better. The sediment bowl screen is a...
