    Farmall M gear change

    3 1/2 is limit. Currently running around 2mph in low fist. 2nd is pushing 4+ mph and running out power on hard tracks if not wide open. Need something in between.

    1st is low first not a standard 2 5/8mph. I know it would work hypothetically if the gear sets are able to pass one another without getting bound. I know 1st and 2nd are combined didnt know if they could be cut and welded back together in order to work. more or less making a hybrid out of it...

    I have a Farmall M with a Low gear first. Would it be possible to change out 2nd and third gear for a standard 1st and 2nd. Basically trying to get low first, and normal 1st to take the place of second. thanks!

    After contacting a couple of pistons manufaturs it seems most wise to bore the sleeve or block. I personally don't really want to yank the block at this time. Would boring the sleeves be cheaper to bore then the whole block. I understand I won't gain the cubes but looking at gaining compression...

    WD9 - Thermostat or no?

    I was having the same issue with my 9. I pulled the radiator out and rodded it myself. Prior to this I tried every flush method out there with no success. Its not a hard job just time consuming and heavy.

    thanks for the reply, looks like im out of luck with this one. I knew that it runs CCW but didnt know the weights and back plate would be different was well. Thought It might be as simple as flipping the orientation.

    Can a distributor off a C,H,M,400 etc be converted to run on a 9? My mag is semi worn out and have a decent one off a 350 I could use. thanks Jim

    Could be a broken spring or failed thrust bearing on the end of the shaft.

    thanks for all the assistance, I have to rod it out and get three snapped bolts out of the top first.

    It must be very deteriorated to the point of no recognition. I cant seem to find a gasket online for this, RTV black it together?

    Does the W9's(C335) core have a gasket between the upper and lower half's? I just took apart one and there was no gasket on either. thanks Jim
