    Oliver 88 serial number question.

Not sure which block, how do I tell? I assume its stamped on the block. I assumed the motor is correct to the tractor because of the freeze plugs and I bought it complete and running, minus some of the sheetmetal. It basically only has a hood and rear fenders on it.

    Oliver 88 serial number question.

Serial number on my 88 oliver is 120449. What exactly does that mean, and does it make it more rare or valuable? The best I can come up with is that its a 1948 model, and it may be a Streamline instead of a Fleetline. Someone told me there was a small amount of them made, and I have the correct...

    Oliver 88 manifolds

So I should look for a 1650 exhaust manifold then? Cool, I can do that. I don't know the exact year of my 88, I have it in my head that it is a 48 or 49 for some reason. I am looking for a better breathing intake manifold because I am getting a lot of condensation and sometimes frost on the...

    JD 410b help please

Definately not a brake issue, although the brakes also need attention. It is steering related, it will completely turn the wheels to the left when stopped, although the steering wheel stays put. The engine laboring at idle is a bigger concern to me because I do not want to damage the pump...

    JD 410b help please

I do not believe the steering valve is causing the engine to labor. It does not turn harder one way or the other, it turns easily both directions actually. It will turn the wheels to the left constantly and at the same rate. It is pretty easy to keep straight if you steer to the right at the...

    Oliver 88 manifolds

I have a cracked exhaust manifold. Is there a manifold that would be considered an upgrade to my worn out factory piece? Looking for something that might increase flow. Same goes for the intake manifold. Its going on my puller. thanks, Josh

    JD 410b help please

I have recently acquired a 410b for the farm that has a couple of problems. First, it wants to steer to the left constantly. You have to keep steering to the right to keep it straight and if you don't it will return to full chock left within 10-15 seconds. Next, it acts like it is under a load...

Thanks for your help, I"m gonna call around some more. I found that Scheid diesel has the cheapest so far and they are close to me here in Indiana.

Need to find driveshaft for 560 D injection pump.

My old injection pump locked up and broke the drive shaft. I have a used pump that is supposed to be good so I need the driveshaft to see if the old 560 is gonna run. IH dealer is pretty proud of that little shaft ($300). Hopefully someone has a good used one they want to get rid of. Or maybe...

    12 volt conversion

Well, what do you know, I am actually north east of Indy about halfway between Noblesville and Elwood along S.R. 37. Bedford would be almost exactly 100 miles from my house, maybe a little more, so prolly not gonna drive down there a couple of times for a genny rebuild. Thanks for your help on...

    12 volt conversion

Correct, my tractor is currently 6 volt positive ground. I don't think there are any decent alternator/ generator rebuild shops in my area (central Indiana) so converting to an one wire alternator and switching polarity is probably the cheapest/easiest route. I believe I can get a reman...

    12 volt conversion

My 88 is currently running a six volt electrical system. I would like some info on the conversion. Also, didn"t I see a kit on this site for the 88 Olivers that included the alternator, brackets, resistor for the coil, and some instructions? I can"t seem to find it now, so I must have been...
