    1940 Case V - Brake Question

Still working on restoring a 1940 Case V. The seal behind the brakes has failed and working on getting the linkage, plate, and brakes out to access. Got to the yoke and rod that are around a large pin that runs from the outside of the tractor to a cavity in the cast. I believe I need to...

    1940 Case V - Pilot Bushing - Can’t find the right ID

I need a new pilot busing for a 1940 Case V model tractor. The input shaft measures OD .63 inches. I found a part referenced for a VA that is Sintered bronze 0.625" inside diameter 0.815" outside diameter 1.000" length The length and OD work, but the ID is too tight. Been looking all...

    1940 Case V battery box/hood latch?

What does the tab attach to when it is rotated ? Does it just go under another fixed tab hanging down from the screw hole in the fuel tank cover ?

    1940 Case V battery box/hood latch?

Ive been working on and off the past year or so on restoring a 1940 Case V that belong to my Grandfather. Making good progress but one of the simpler things has been hard to find a reference. The access hood to the battery box has a vent hole in the sheet metal and just in front of it a hole...

Massey Harris - F162A308 Tappet Lifter

Your seems to be different. ? Mine pictured below has coarse thread section that screws into the lifter. Then a flange and then the larger section that has very fine threads that the jam nut rises up. In my picture the jam nut is threaded all the way up to the top 9/16 inch hex head that is...

Massey Harris - F162A308 Tappet Lifter

Thanks for the update. Yep, I think they might drop out the bottom with the cam out or broken , or you can lift high enough to screw the adjuster nut and jam nut out with the valve out or lifted. Jeff

Massey Harris - F162A308 Tappet Lifter

You can pull off the manifold off and open the tappet cover on the side. You can hold the tappet lifter with a 7/8 wrench and use a 3/4 inch wrench on the jam nut to wind it counterclockwise wise until the entire adjustment screw and Jam nut will come out of the lifter. The screw and nut are...

Massey Harris - F162A308 Tappet Lifter

I actually only need one. The top adjusting nut is damaged. On cylinder #1 exhaust. If I can find an exact replacement I could probably fix with just the adjusting screw and lock nut of a new lifter into this existing one. Jeff

I am restoring a Tractor that has a Continental Flathead F162 (F162A308). I need the adjusting screw 9/16 Hex head and the 3/4 Jam nut in the Tappet Lifter that has 7/8 flats on the side. Any good resource to find this part? I have looked through the parts on this site but they appear to be...
