    Can someone help me? i changed out the head gasket last year and everything seemed to be fine. Today my tractor started smoking and spitting oil, i looked under the hood and saw one of the injectors had popped out, one bolt was still with the injector, i dont see the other bolt. i torqued those...

    I changed my head gasket on my 1960 super major. I have noticed that i have smoke coming out of 1 or 2 of my fuel injectors right at the spot where the connect to the motor. Any ideas....did i not reinstall them properly? They seem to have gone together the same way they came apart.

    Hey thanks for all the expert help, really appreciate it. I got running good now, BUt....a problem i had earlier that seemed to have stopped has reared its head again. the crankcase breather is blowing oil out of it , what should i check and how do i fix this?

    Do i need to loosen all the rockers first as they are all tight against the valves, and can i turn the motor using the strarter or by hand only?

    i just replaced the head gasket and reassembled the motor. i am stuck not knowing what to do with the valves. I never moved the camshaft of the pistons during the work, i put the head back on with the valves and rocker assemble, but im not seeing any clearence on the valves like the book says...

    gasket sealer?

    I am replacing the head gasket on a 1960 diesel fordson super major, i am new to this kind of work and i ask, do i need any kind of gasket sealer like permatex for the head gasket, manifold gasket, thermostat gasket or valve cover gasket?

    Fordson 1960 super major

    When the rear arms come up they seem to fall back down very quickly....within 2 minutes. Also when i bring them up and keep the lever against the backstop , to keep the implement raised, the tractor starts to rock up and down.....any ideas?

    Well i thought we had it fixed, we did as u said and it all worked yesterday....started mowing today and now we r back to where we were.....it wont lift up. We started out mowing and the arms were working....although we noticed they would not hold their position....kept dropping...then they quit...

    We are brand new to tractors so excuse my ignorance here, but when we purchased it the guy was showing us how to use it, on the left side while sitting on the tractor, we need to pull this lever back, and also turn around and move another lever to get the pto going....do i need these both...
