    44 A Starter Band

That and in addition to something else... fibrous, a very distinct cross pattern. That being said though since it is 80 years young...it could have been installed by someone if it isn't supposed to be there. However, Steiners breakdown picture of the band does show something there, although...

    44 A Starter Band

Working on my 44 A. I had removed the band around the end (away from the nose) of the starter. There was some 80 year old material between the band and the starter housing...can anyone tell me what this material is supposed to be? It's very brittle and will be going in the trash. I'd like to...

    Rear cover/rockshaft removal JD A

I'm looking to swap rear covers from a 52 to a 44 A. The 44 has a power lift and PTO mounted, the 52 has a power trowl and PTO mounted. Working on a '44 Model A

I will definitely pull plugs and see if there is anything in there along with checking the valves, as I was going to adjust them as well. I will say this is my first go at anything 2 cylinder related, including a carb rebuild. I've watched a few videos, looks like a fairly straightforward...

    Working on a '44 Model A

The fuel tank is actually very clean. No rust or varnish...bright silver. So that's a huge plus. The small tank on the other hand, not so much, but I'm just going to cap that one off anyways.

    Working on a '44 Model A

Hi all, new poster here, been reading for some time to gain some knowledge but have some questions for the experts here. I recently acquired my late grandfather's 1944 A and am working on getting it running. A little background here so hopefully this helps...as far as I know, this tractor...
