O/T any body know any thing about building canons

About 1984, A couple of us got hold of a hunk of 6" hydraulic ram... Golf balls were the projectiles of the day. We both worked in a machine shop so we first turned the chrome and case hardening off the shaft with a ceramic insert in a South Bend Turnado Lathe with the fire a-flying! Then we...

    Update: Coons gettin garbage can

We feed cats outside on our back porch on a table and the coons up on the table snarl and snap at you when you come out the back door. I stake the big Havahart trap to the ground nearby set over a handfull of dry cat food. They go in and reach down through the wire with their front paws to...

    Cyclone Pre Cleaner 8N

Found one under the Christmas Tree this morning, I believe it was an eBay find.... It appears original, with a cup-like bail bottom, and it came with a replacement jar in a box with the rib around the middle. The rim of the cup sortakinda fits the bottom radius of the jar, but doesn't seem to...

    Snow plowing

I use chains on blacktop and it can tear it up. I think in my situation blacktop is more of a liability than an asset. Mine has always been in poor condition since we"ve lived here and we can"t get it redone without digging down and regrading, which will cost more than we can afford.

OT Buy A House In A Cornfield?

Where I live in central IN, the former neighboring farmer across the road had a knack for spreading liquid hog manure whenever my wife had clothes on the clothesline and windows open in the house. Yecch! We haven't experienced that problem with the current owners, however.

    OT Bumblebees

Well, the bees appear to be bombus impatiens per the bumblebee.org website under North American species. They were still here yesterday, no apparent dent in the population, so I went and got liquid Sevin concentrate at Menard's on the way home. At 4:00 am today I mixed and dumped 2 gallons...

    OT Bumblebees

Absolutely not Yellowjackets. I have done battle with them in the lawn as well, and know what those are. Fat black bees wearing yellowish fuzzy 'vests'.NO stripes whatsoever. Very LOUD fliers. They work the flowers in the yard like my honeybees do. They almost look like an undersized...

    OT Bumblebees

The new 3-lb. puppy found a previously unknown bumblebee nest on her very first foray into my yard yesterday. She got stung at least once and that critter chased me carrying the pup into the car. It even got behind my glasses. Later I stood about twenty feet from where the incident happened...

    OT-Restoring Pedal Tractor

I second the Evapo-Rust idea. It seems to physically remove the rust, thus freeing up the mechanism. I was given several Jacobs Drill Chucks that had been in a container that caught rain... They were seized and the chuck wrench wouldn't fit them due to rust buildup. Two weeks in the Evapo-Rust...

    OT- Head and Shoulders

I know it's good for washing my hair and for getting fish smell off of my hands after cleaning a mess of bluegills. I'll stick to motor oil in MY crankcase. (grin)

    8N WIRING HARNESS

My '50 was/is routed just above the left edge (viewed from the seat) of the hood. My new harness came with the clips to fasten it to the hood edge.
