First picture is of the one on my tractor. It is 4 1/2 inches . Reason I want to replace it is the top of the stack is damaged and I want one in good condition for later restoration of the tractor. Second picture is the one I bought off of eBay it is in very good condition. I have the bottom...

    M and MT AirCleaner

With the one I got on eBay there is no clearance at all you can't even properly put it on. Ill measure the height of it later and also measure how much clearance I have between headlight bracket and air cleaner with my old one.

    M and MT AirCleaner

Was wondering if the air cleaner for a M and a MT were the same? I was thinking they were. I got a air cleaner off of eBay that was supposed to fit a M but it doesn't. The body of the air cleaner is to tall and hits the headlight bracket when you try to bolt it on. The air cleaner is in great...

    Best coating for wheels?

As far as I know the factory style "wafer rim" for a m is not available new. Can I go over it with por15 after I get them sandblasted? They don't look pitted just light rust and many many layers of paint.

    Best coating for wheels?

Goin to have the back rims on my M John Deere sandblasted to get them cleaned up nice. What should I do before I mount new tires? Spray them with epoxy primer, then top coat? Is powder coat a option or would that be a bad idea? I already have some Dupont epoxy primer that I was gonna do my truck...

    John Deere MT2A Plow

Just acquired a John Deere MT2A plow. Only reason I got it was to resale. With a little cleaning I think it would shine up good. Has slat bottoms, missing one coulter. Has angle iron welded to top for something, nothing is wrong with the plow frame I'm gonna cut that off. I don't know why that...

Bright shiny metal at all connections with internal and external tooth washers to boot. Still doesn't charge one single bit. On the other hand just got done restoring a 57 420 for a...

    M-Series land plow - Help!

MT has to have the plow with the longer beam. Which would be a mt1 or mt2 if I am correct. M1 and m2 won't work as far as I know.

    B JD crank splines

We are waiting to hear what the owner wants to do. I don't think he is convinced it needs fixing. It's so bad I think if you used it to plow a couple acres it would finish it off.

    B JD crank splines

Wondering where is the best place to send a crank to have the splines renewed? 1945 B came in at work to be tuned up. After giving it a good look over before starting to do anything I noticed the splines on the crank and clutch driver are so bad that its actually about to just shear them...

    M JD Generator Update

Anybody with any tips? I have ran the tractor on a bushog for two days now wide open and on high charge and battery voltage is less every time I get done and check it so its still not charging. I hope I get this figured out quick I want to take it to a plow day in a couple weeks. Thanks.

    M JD Generator Update

Sent the generator on the M to Sharps and had it completely restored so everything should be fine now. I am starting off with the "motor" test. With the generator mounted to tractor and belt removed. I have a wire from field on genny to lower genny mounting bolt. When I apply battery voltage...
