M and MT AirCleaner

Was wondering if the air cleaner for a M and a MT were the same? I was thinking they were. I got a air cleaner off of eBay that was supposed to fit a M but it doesn't. The body of the air cleaner is to tall and hits the headlight bracket when you try to bolt it on. The air cleaner is in great condition. Now I need to figure out what it actually came off of so I can sell it. Thanks.

How much clearance do you have between the headlight bracket and hood? Should just barely clear and then about an inch from there to the top of the cleaner. My guess is it"s a 420 or 430 but you would need to get a body height measurement(clamp band to top) & then see if one of the guy"s with one can post their height.

With the one I got on eBay there is no clearance at all you can't even properly put it on. Ill measure the height of it later and also measure how much clearance I have between headlight bracket and air cleaner with my old one.

The body of the air cleaner on a M and 40 is about 1" shorter than the body on the 420 and 430 air cleaner. I have several M air cleaners available. I could send pictures if your interested. Also if yours is in "great" condition and you're willing to pay the shipping I might be willing to trade. Thanks, Tom. (573 535 8952)

First picture is of the one on my tractor. It is 4 1/2 inches . Reason I want to replace it is the top of the stack is damaged and I want one in good condition for later restoration of the tractor.
Second picture is the one I bought off of eBay it is in very good condition. I have the bottom bowl also just wasn't in picture at time. This one is 5 1/2 inches.
Thanks for the help.
