Corn head grease
When I bought my "new" used Kodiak rotary cutter the gearbox was filled with some brown "syrup". I didn't know what that liquid was (and nobody on this forum could tell me) so I drained it for good measure. Now I have some corn head grease to put in it, but I'm not sure how it works... What kind of Gearbox Oil is this?
Yes, the oils seemed to be all right... anyway, I've drained it all by turning the cutter upside down; no syphoning required.- jrslv

I don't know... I read that some old-timers simply pack those with grease. Anyway, how do I purge the old oil then? Should I try to clean the old crap with WD40 or some low viscosity oil before pouring fresh one? As a matter of fact, my gearbox has a side cover that I could open to get a...- jrslv

Sealing Muffler Stack Connection
This is exactly my situation. I don't normally remove the muffler during the storage, but I must do it in order to be able to remove the hood of the tractor.- jrslv
