    you will first need to know if it is the IH overbore sleeve, or the aftermarket overbore sleeve. They are different in the flange height, and the head gasket that they use.

    Questions on '39 H

    I have serial number 700, and it is only stamped on the block and side rail. The clutch housing was never drilled for a serial tag. I have seen Hs without provisions for a tag to about 1000, and the highest M I have seen without a tag is around 750..

    your "parts dealer" doesn't have a clue. He is assuming that you have a Case 400 Diesel, not the IH Farmall 400 Diesel.
