    d17 series IV

The black is a sooty dry black, however the threads on the sparkplugs seem to be wet, but not oily. Last night is the first time I noticed the smoke. Normally I don't run the tractor in the garage and outside I have never noticed any smoke. In the garage I didn't notice any until I ran at...

    d17 series IV

Hate to bother everyone again, but I need help with carburator adjustment on a D17 gas. At full rpm I am getting a light blue smoke and a slight backfire when idling back down. The sparkplugs look like they have been around awhile as the outside housing is rusty. They also blacken up rather...

    D17 oil fill cap

    D17 oil fill cap

Is there any way to stop oil from leaking down the oil fill cap onto the valve cover? I can see the steel wool in the cap, but I do not see anyway for the oil that gets into the wool to get back into the valve cover.

    d17 series IV

I have a 1964 D17 series IV that is blowing fuses for the lights when it is running. Used a jumper in the fuse holder to run tests and without the engine running, lights work fine and I get a volt reading of 12.5. For a short time after tractor is started lights continue to work, then lights...
