    Kobelco SK60 Fault codes

Thanks for the replies. I wasn't suspecting battery's. It's a 2 battery system hook together to make 24V. I had just put one new 1 in last fall and the original was fine at that time. I visually inspected them and all looked good. When I turned the key from on to start nothing was happening not...

    Kobelco SK60 Fault codes

Last December when it got cold my stepping motor seemed to have trouble finding the start position. I lubed up the cable and arm on the motor and it was better. Put it in the shed and now when I try to start it after sitting in this cold winter it will not even attempt to turn over. When it was...

    Kobelco electrical update

That's what we did. Took each connector apart and soaked with WD40. Then used contact cleaner to dry and then reconnect. Still waiting to hear about possibly changing the ignition switch.

    Kobelco electrical update

Thanks for the replies. I started the machine today and right away the screen was showing the service wrench. I tapped the screen and it started working. Same as last night with the key unable to shut off the engine. I restarted it and this time nothing I did would unlock that service screen and...

    Kobelco electrical update

First thanks for the replies. I printed them off and let the service guy read your comments on our ghost hunt. After an hour of cleaning plugs and looking for bare wires darkness came. He explained to me he had done all this before we replaced the control module the first time. As he went to...

    Electrical issues

No one ever mentioned a service interval setting. How do you reset that? I have no book with the machine. Thanks

    Electrical issues

Wayne Thanks for the reply. Question. Do you think a ground short would fry the computer or should not it blow the 5 amp fuse first?

    Electrical issues

I bought a 1995 Kobelco SK60 last fall. The service screen was showing a wrench symbol indicating a problem. After researching the problem and unable to find a short or blown fuse we changed the control module and bingo the monitoring screen show normal functions. Put 20 hours on the machine...

    Kobelco

What is everyone's opinion on Kobelco equipment. In particular their excavators. Any that are lemons or were the pre 2000 models just as good as the new ones? How would you rank them to Cat,Deere and Komatsu? Thanks

    Kobelco

Just bought a Kobelco Sk60 Midi excavator. Any have insight on good or bad of these machines. Some I have talked to feel Kobelco rivals Cat as far as performance , just lack marketing and support. Thanks

    Excavator controls

Thanks. I will have to check those 2 locations. Does anyone know if the dealer runs the serial number will that option show up? I know with Cat equipment everything shows as well as work done on that machine at a Cat dealer.

    Excavator controls

I was used to Cat or ISO I believe they are called in my old excavator. I just bought a kobeclo and its controls are the other style, Deere like. Anyone know how big a job to switch the SK60 over to what I am used to? Thanks

    midi excavators

Like every thing I see and that's being said about Kubota except not a lot to choose from in this area. Resale is high for the kx080's. Not looking to spend much over $25000. I guess that verifies what you are saying, as well as that larger model hasn't been out that long.

    midi excavators

Thanks for the replies. Often find the double hinged booms really cheap. Makes me think that the extra wear points are not popular. Was looking more for whether there was differences in lift capacities or issues I wasn't aware of. Like the looks Of JCB JX70's but not any around. Looking for the...

    midi excavators

Looking for a new Midi. Sold the 1989 Hitachi EX60. Looking to upgrade. Finding in the 6-8 T class there are more machines to choose from that have what I believe they call swing booms. They are mounted on the front of the turret and cab and can be swung to either side for digging along...
