    Just wanted to give an update i just installed the ACDelco Gold 334-2114 Alternator and eliminated the external voltage regulator and i am now charging. thanks everyone for the help

    my tractor is not charging when i check the battery with a multimeter its around 12.4-12.5 and when i start it it drops to 12.3 so i researched testing alternators and i cant get any more then 12.3 when running. its a 3 wire alternator. there was no dummy light hooked up so i bought one...

    This is distributor pre adjustment just wondering if this looks normal, looks like something is broken where the roter sits on.

    I was checking the points in the distributor and they barley opened when i turned the tractor over and sparking orange. So I adjusted them and had the feeler gauge in (.014) when I tighten them back down they seem to be opened a lot better and when I turned the tractor over nice big blue spark...

    Thanks! My carb is up higher and isn t gravity fed, that s why I was kinda wondering if I had to be turning it over or have it running to check to see if the fuel is coming out.

    I bought an old b414 that needed some work, first thing I did was drop the oil, drain the fuel put a new fuel filter on, the wiring was bad so We re-wired the tractor so it s starts off the key now. put a new regulator and resistor. Tractor will start and run at 1/4 choke but will eventually...
