    inline fuel shutoff question

Ok, I'll give her a try tomorrow. Just overthinking I guess.

    inline fuel shutoff question

I just replaced a leaking fuel shutoff at the tank. As others have suggested I would like to leave it open and use an inline shutoff. I just purchased one but after getting home I realize that the actual inner diam. of the valve is quite a bit smaller than the 5/16 diam. of the line it is in...

    Leaking fuel shutoff

I know this has been discussed before but I have a screw-type gas shutoff that leaks when it is opened, but not when shut. Anyone know off the top of their head what the fix is for this? It's a 4 cyl 4000 gasser. Thanks for your help. Mark

    high oil pressure update

About how long was it running at 90 psi? It's looking like I'm gonna just run it as is and hope for the best.

    high oil pressure update

I have the tester attached where the gauge would be at the end of the copper tube. I do hope I'm worrying over nothing. If that passage to the lifters were blocked I'm guessing there's no easy fix.

    high oil pressure update

An oil passage being blocked is the worst case scenario and my biggest concern. Sounds like a major ordeal. Has anyone ever had that problem, and if so, what did you do about it?

    high oil pressure update

I put a new gauge on it a couple weeks ago and it pegged 80. So I bought a test kit that goes to 140 and I've been running it with that till I get things figured out. So, I think it is a true reading. If 80 psi is not alarming that is what I want to hear. :)

    high oil pressure update

So, as in earlier thread, tractor was running high oil pressure, around 80 psi @ operating temp and 1500ish rpms. It would go down to around 40 psi at idle. Per (Showcrop, I think), I changed the oil to 10w30. Was running 15w40 rotella before. Tried to get 10w20 but couldn't find it. Anyway...

    erratic oil pressure

So, I ran ol' blue today for about 45 minutes with the rotary mower. When rpm's were up(1500 or better) the oil pressure stayed around 78-81 psi. After it was good and warm I idled it all the way down and it dropped to almost 40 psi. So I guess I try the lighter weight oil next and see what...

    erratic oil pressure

Yes, I run the 15W 40 rotella due to the conventional wisdom on this forum. Ok, I'll give her a little workout and see if anything changes. Just wanted to make sure it's safe to do so.

    erratic oil pressure

I did not work it. Just ran for about 10 minutes at various rpm's to see what the pressure was. So are you saying I need to work it a bit to see what the actual pressure is? Is it safe to do that if it is running at 80 psi?

    erratic oil pressure

Ok, well I got an oil press. tester that goes to 140 psi. I hooked it up and started it and after warming up it read 82 psi @ 1500 rpm. If I backed it off to an idle it would read 50-52 psi. So, obviously high pressure. If it were your's what would you do next? Is it unsafe to operate at...

    erratic oil pressure

Ok, will get a different gauge that reads higher. What would be the highest acceptable pressure? Any other reasons besides relief valve for this problem?
