    Brake Block Drain Plug Leak

Disregard. Looks like the housing is more common than I thought. I've already found a number of possible sources. Thanks guys!

    Brake Block Drain Plug Leak

So, turns out my brake block IS cracked. Do you by chance have a link to those rebuilt units, or a good used one, or any other source?

    Brake Block Drain Plug Leak

Thank you. Still trying to get around to checking for cracks. I wondered, if there might be a source on here for a good used brake valve if necessary.

    Brake Block Drain Plug Leak

By your definition ... the plug tightens properly. I appreciate the suggestion, re: use of powder to help locate the leak. I'll give it a shot, when I have the time again.

    Brake Block Drain Plug Leak

The o-rings are all the proper ones from John Deere, identified by the appropriate parts manual. How do I tell if it is "tightening correctly"? It will tighten to the point that it's difficult to remove again. I resealed the entire brake valve body with the correct o-rings. An experienced...

    Brake Block Drain Plug Leak

Finally, after nearly 4 years, I've got my 1974 John Deere 510 Backhoe running and functioning. I only have 1 persistent issue left, and it's driving me nuts! After repairing numerous leaks, I'm left with one at the hydraulic brake block that appears to be coming from the drain plug. I've...

    Hydraulic Leak

I have a 1974 John Deere 510 Loader/Backhoe that's been a 3 year project. Finally got it running and everything functioning. Replaced a bunch of leaking hydraulic hoses and am down to one last, significant leak. The vertical hard line in the attached picture connects to a junction block via a...

    Stanadyne Roosa Master Injection Pump

    Stanadyne Roosa Master Injection Pump

The machine has been sitting unused for at least the past 3-4 years. It didn't seem to have any diesel left in it though, so not sure if diesel geling is/was an issue. Lift pump is new and providing good pressure to the injection pump. 12V key power to shut off solenoid, but I don't hear it...

    Stanadyne Roosa Master Injection Pump

Anyone have, or know where to find, a good used Stanadyne Roosa Master Fuel Injection pump for a 1974 John Deere 510 backhoe? Has the 4270DR engine. Injection pump part # AR-50144. Just rebuilt the engine. Getting good fuel flow to the injection pump ... but nothing out of it. Appreciate...

Timing 1974 John Deere 510 Backhoe

Thanks guys. Sometimes, a guy just needs to step away and breath. Lol. When I turned the motor over. I actually went 2 full turns ... back to the original issue. Tried again today and finally got it done. Youre both awesome!

Timing 1974 John Deere 510 Backhoe

That makes perfect sense, but I did rotate the engine one full revolution with the same result. Any chance there's more than one #1 TDC mark on the flywheel? Regardless, I'll try again tomorrow.
