    706 Update-good news!

I wanted to let all those who gave me advice know how the old 706 was doing. I started it up, let it run,put a little air pressure in the reservoir, and cracked the plugs on both pumps until oil came out, all while cycling the 3 point, and aux. valves. after a little bit of jerking and...

    706 still has no hydraulics

I added another 5, and the loader actually raised, although very slowly. I let it down, and when I tried to raise it again, it kind of jumped around, like air was trying to work its way out. After this, it wouldnt raise. I pulled the drain plug on both pumps seperately, and each time, after a...

    706 still has no hydraulics

I havent idled it up much due to fear of hurting something w/ no oil in it. I checked the oil level, and it had dropped significantly. (below add) when it had been over full. I added a couple more gallons, idled it up, and it picked up enough to make the steering stiffen up and the lift raise...

    706 PTO problems

I just bought a 706, and I'll be interested to hear about this issue. The shafts turn all time-as if something in the control valve isnt disengaging. Good looking 706!

Still no lift, steering, (wheel turns in both directions with no resistance) front end loader wont budge. I pulled the plug on the bottom of the mcv also, thinking that might allow air to pass. 706 update and new issues.

I was able to find the plug that lies in between the plugs for the finals- I had to pull the draw bar to see it. The plug was stripped out and froze in, so I drilled it out, and tried to easy-out the plug. Broke the easy out off in the plug. Was able to blow away enough of the easy out and...

    Year-Serial Number for 706

The IH plate says "706" and below that, has the number 14909SY. I looked on Tractor Data, and if I am correct, it is a 1964 model. Is it correct to get the number off the plate, or one of the stamped numbers? If so, what is the "SY" stand for? Thanks a lot for your help!
