    350 u off to mechanic 300u electrical question

    I converted my 350U to 12 volt and switched the ignition to a Pertronix. If it balks at starting I now go right to the fuel system as I has a lot of confidence in the ignition. The Pertronix was around a hundred bucks 10 years ago and well worth it.

    Some dummy had #1 and #2 plug wires crossed—I'll talk to myself about that. Still a problem with running rough, back firing through carb.     This sat for a week and when I went to start it two days ago I got backfire through carb and no start> With palm ver carb for choke I get lots of pressure AND lots of suction. I don't remember experiencing that in over 50 years of messing with old gas engines. Are these timing gears or chains...

    350 utility power steering repair.

    Steve Watroba has a 49 part series on the International 300/350 Utility which he presents free on YouTube. Quite a bit of his work was on the power steering on these tractors. The whole series proved very useful to me and my 350 Utility (with Pippin backhoe and FEL).

    My 350U has power steering and it works pretty well. I believe that is because it has had a backhoe since it was new.     The flow control valve. Does the groove for snap ring fail? Retainer for flo cntrl valve pops up and leaks. Hope this gets posted just deleted photo I thought would help it post

    Good info. It must be that safety regulator valve. When it first blew out I saw that the circlip (internal snap ring?) was actually broken in three pieces...I found two and the top plug with the O ring on it was sitting up at an angle. The last two times I've put it back together the same thing...
