IH 404 Hydraulic missing filter seals

Thanks, and to answer your question the 404 has a common sump for transmission hydraulic and axle. We will get that seal and post results.

IH 404 Hydraulic missing filter seals

That's one of the missing seals-the one at the top of the canister. I'm not seeing a suction screen in parts diagram, only a screen that the element goes into. Maybe I should pull that cover off under seat and have a look.

IH 404 Hydraulic missing filter seals

Picked this tractor up from local dealer. Got it running nicely but no hydraulics-steering or 3pt. We were able to bleed pump by cracking line but only for seconds. Found out filter is missing some seals, the seal for the base and various seals inside the assembly as well as one spring. Would...

Sitrex ST-520 rotor axle housing removal

Unfortunately we moved too quick on the ebay part. It is for ST-384 which is the 3pt version of our ST-520, the pull type. They use too many different parts to u$e this housing. So in the unlikely event anyone knows of a retired Sitrex ST-520 please let us know. I have not been able to find one...

Sitrex ST-520 rotor axle housing removal

Thanks Jim, appreciate your advice. We do plan on keeping it and cannot justify a newer 4 basket for our small acreage. I've found a NOS and plan on going that route.

Sitrex ST-520 rotor axle housing removal

I've got the housing off, just needed a few very light taps. Now that it is off I understand how the bearings and seals are arranged. Now to get the housing repaired or find a replacement. It's out of square by 1/4".

Sitrex ST-520 rotor axle housing removal

As you'll see the housing (right side) needs to be replaced or cut and rewelded square. So trying to remove #26 from #14. Can't pull housing past the two bearings #21 and oil retainer #22. I'm left wondering how these are fastened to axle and/ or if I need to remove the complete axle from the...

    New fuel filter assembly

New assembly on and not leaking. I'm certain the problem was the groove on the filter base was too small. Having it off the tractor and facing up, the flat oring was too big and both bulged and twisted if you forced it in. I tried it with a few different new and used o rings I had. They...

    New fuel filter assembly

Far as I know it's the same. Dealer no longer available. Not under pressure-gravity fed from tank. It's for a Ford 3600 but this assembly is common in many other makes and models.

    New fuel filter assembly

Take it apart and lube orings? I don't think I did last time I installed complete assembly and it had a weep that didn't show up right away. I tried new filter and seals and it leaked terrible. Then when I snugged it up once too much the glass bowl shattered. Never had an issue with the old one...

Ford 1910 Diesel Starting Issues - Looking for advice

After reading a lot on the 10 series I won't disagree but curious: Did they need them at warm temps when they were new? If they did, what's the difference from the 20 series? Both are indirect injection with similar compressions. Sounds like good connections and battery are even more...
