Sitrex ST-520 rotor axle housing removal

Thanks Jim, appreciate your advice. We do plan on keeping it and cannot justify a newer 4 basket for our small acreage. I've found a NOS and plan on going that route.

Sitrex ST-520 rotor axle housing removal

I've got the housing off, just needed a few very light taps. Now that it is off I understand how the bearings and seals are arranged. Now to get the housing repaired or find a replacement. It's out of square by 1/4".

Sitrex ST-520 rotor axle housing removal

As you'll see the housing (right side) needs to be replaced or cut and rewelded square. So trying to remove #26 from #14. Can't pull housing past the two bearings #21 and oil retainer #22. I'm left wondering how these are fastened to axle and/ or if I need to remove the complete axle from the...

    New fuel filter assembly

New assembly on and not leaking. I'm certain the problem was the groove on the filter base was too small. Having it off the tractor and facing up, the flat oring was too big and both bulged and twisted if you forced it in. I tried it with a few different new and used o rings I had. They...

    New fuel filter assembly

Far as I know it's the same. Dealer no longer available. Not under pressure-gravity fed from tank. It's for a Ford 3600 but this assembly is common in many other makes and models.

    New fuel filter assembly

Take it apart and lube orings? I don't think I did last time I installed complete assembly and it had a weep that didn't show up right away. I tried new filter and seals and it leaked terrible. Then when I snugged it up once too much the glass bowl shattered. Never had an issue with the old one...

Ford 1910 Diesel Starting Issues - Looking for advice

After reading a lot on the 10 series I won't disagree but curious: Did they need them at warm temps when they were new? If they did, what's the difference from the 20 series? Both are indirect injection with similar compressions. Sounds like good connections and battery are even more...

Ford 1910 Diesel Starting Issues - Looking for advice

My Jap 2120 doesn't need glow plug cycle unless it gets down in the teens. I ran it out of fuel once and had fuel at the injectors, but it would not fire. After bleeding as stated it did start. Maybe my 4cyl engine responds differently than the 3 cylinder. They are both Shibaura. Can't hurt to...

Ford 1910 Diesel Starting Issues - Looking for advice

How is the 1910 fuel filters bled? One other step I didn't see mentioned is bleeding the injector pump. I know you are seeing fuel when you cracked injector lines but you need to correctly bleed the pump and filter. I'd change filter unless you know it's been changed recently. After...

    Ford 3600 hydraulic filter change

As per manual oil gets changed every 1200 hrs while the filter gets changed every 300 hrs. Tractor has been parked since last fall. For hydraulic filter only should I still warm tractor up or can I change it cold? Nothing in manual on this. In the past I've always warmed it up because I'd be...

Ford 2120 Gasket like material in hydraulic filter

Pricing out parts, this looks like an expensive brake job, but I'm sure pumps and other hydraulic components are in jeopardy. Would more frequent oil and filter changes along with light braking buy any time? It's a lightly used tractor

Ford 2120 Gasket like material in hydraulic filter

Yes on the loader and it does use the tractors hydraulics. However, I'm really leaning towards the brake linings. On closer inspection few of the pieces had the radial curve that matched the curve of a larger disc.

Ford 2120 Gasket like material in hydraulic filter

No difference. No adjustment either, they work great. Since we've owned it if you brake hard it will have a metal to metal sound. I've forgotten the brakes locked more times than I should've. Noticed right away but imagine this could be why I'm seeing those pieces.
