    Bobcat 743 rain in exhaust

I got a combustion tester and turns out I've got a gasket leak or cracked head possibly due to ice or the wife not knowing why he parked it... now for a rebuild or swap. The place in Ohio I hoping to buy from no longer retrofits the v2203 for the v1702 swap so now I'm searching. Would love to...

    Bobcat 743 rain in exhaust

I guess that's my fear with how much was coming out the tube but it didn't have any color or smell like antifreeze so I'm hopeful just rain and snow water. When it finally fired off it blew a lot of water out the exhaust and the exhaust looked like a nuclear cooling tower. That died down to...

I'm from out of the area so it will have to sit outside.

    Bobcat 743 rain in exhaust

There's no bulb on this one. It was replaced with an electronic pump. But it seems to flow from the tank ok. We had to purge the air because the clamps were loose and the line was empty from the pump to the injectors. It seemed to flow up ok though. I dislike in-tank filters, I will look...

    Bobcat 743 rain in exhaust

Yeah, I didn't try adding any winter additive and didn't even think about the fuel gelling up for some reason. Too worried about the water I guess. I'll do that and fill it up with treated fresh fuel. It's pretty close to empty so a full tank should do it some good. I'll change all filters...

    Bobcat 743 rain in exhaust

When I ran it there it ran good once warmed up. When I got it home (1.5 hour ride in 20 degrees). I tried to start it to unload and it ran but quit after 30 seconds. Did same 3 times so I stopped afraid to break something. I'm going to at a minimum heat it up good with the torpedo and change...

    Bobcat 743 rain in exhaust

Today I picked up a bobcat 743 with a kubota v1702 motor. It was cheap (3k) as a result of someones divorce but had been sitting with a dead battery for about 7 months. It is now Feb and 20 degrees. I put a new battery in and had to put a torch in the intake to get it to fire. It blew lots...

    5/8 rod steering seals help

Update: I got the piece out. It is plastic not metal and is cupped on the inside. It has another plastic piece behind it that is cone-shaped to fit the cup and flat on the other with a flat rubber washer type seal behind it. That's it. None of the kits I have seen look like this. Do I...

    5/8 rod steering seals help

ok, so I ordered a steering cylinder seal kit for my 3400. It is 5/8 rod. I went to put it in and both the OD of the rod and the ID of the metal seal thing are exactly 5/8. The paper-ish rings are also exactly 5/8. This is a problem as they do not even pretend to go on the rod. (Zero...

    Bobcat 732 worth it?

I'm in the market for an affordable skid loader for general property work. I found a bobcat 732 gas for $5,800 It has 1800 hrs with 100 hours on rebuilt engine and new wiring. I wanted a deisel but I know how to work on gas motors not deisel. He says it is chain drive not hydraulic. Though...

Pertronix magnet gap ford 4000 su.

So I finally got the ei in and running. After installing it I got zero spark, I replaced the coil with a new one from the new holland dealer since I didn't have time to wait for a new pertronix coil. Still no spark after several evenings in the rain and mud. yesterday I looked back through the...

Pertronix magnet gap ford 4000 su.

Thanks Sean. Yes the 4000 was converted (no tach). And the wires go straight to the ignition. The instrument panel(new) I believe does have a regulator on it. There is one place in the harness that is wide (resistor???) So does that mean I need to run a new wire from the ignition or even...

Pertronix magnet gap ford 4000 su.

I was refering to the regulator box in the battery area that then runs to the ignition and instruments (on the 3400). This 4000 just has what seams to be basic wires going straight from alternator to ignition and cluster.

Also, the 3400 had a voltage regulator. The 4000 does not. Do I need to do anything different?
