Bobcat 732 worth it?

I'm in the market for an affordable skid loader for general property work. I found a bobcat 732 gas for $5,800 It has 1800 hrs with 100 hours on rebuilt engine and new wiring. I wanted a deisel but I know how to work on gas motors not deisel. He says it is chain drive not hydraulic. Though I have run many, this will be the first I will own. It is low on hp but is it worth it? I have to start somewhere right? Anyone have good or bad experiences with these?

I think its hydrostat drive that that drives two wheels. those wheels are hooked together by chains so that's what he means by chain driven. really depends on what maint they did on it. those hours are hi at all for the age. because of its age and size it is probably priced to the hi side some but location often dictates that. you wont be able to do much digging but for moving brush, smoothing drive ways, snow removal it such work fine. most important thing is to start it up, check for any oil leaks, check to see what gauges work, make sure when it starts the machine doesn't move or have any unusual noises. you might want to search the net for parts. older ones are getting bad about getting parts. bobcat parts are really hi. don't care what the guy tells you do your homework first so you will know when your looking at. could be a diamond in the ruff or could be you need gold to fix it.

Those chains last a long time when they are in a housing with
oil bath lubrication. A lot of tractors were made that way.
Older Case for example.
