    Thanks for the feedback. I do still have the original but needs some cleanup and it has a rattle inside so have to crack it open. Think I will try to get one from Brillman also to try and get stable again.

    I usually have trouble finding the timing mark on the bell housing so I usually crank the engine to where the number one piston is at max position on the compression stroke. Then I set the magneto to that engine position. Is the timing mark usually appear at the max number one piston position?

    Thanks, yes condenser was the original term for the part but they started calling those devices capacitors in more recent times.

    While installing wiring to magneto capacitor and tightening nut on capacitor, the center terminal of the capacitor started turning also. Is the capacitor no longer any good and internal ground connection broken?

    1965 Ford 2000 3cyl gas

    Battery not being charged. The field wire to generator reads 2.5v but only getting about 1v out of generator. Does this indicate a generator or regulator issue?

    Amazingly, I viewed the clutch connection through the pto shaft hole and it appeared to be still intact. I inserted the pto shaft and it readily made connection. So it appears I was very lucky here.

    Yes, the fuse was a miniature, but it was not blown. It appears a rat found the dash tasty and proceeded to remove wiring. Does anyone know where I can get the dash bayonet bulbs for the oil and gen lights. They were smashed. also looking for a replacement panel gasket with nuts embedded. thx

    Is the panel fuse located ON the light switch? The panel is pretty much dead and have not been able to physically locate the fuse.
