    Farmall m governor problem

What I found and did to mine. with the governor out of the housing and put together a little you will see where the weights ride on a washer. the weighs can get flat there and keep them from moving smoothly also the washer may have worn places, if it hasn't already been turned (worn places both...

    ih 674 power steering/hydraulic issues

When you change the filter look carefully at the stuff that is on it. If it is mostly soft and brown then it is probably brake material. Use a magnet on it You may even find some metal grindings. You block it up good and work your way from the back wheel and axel housing into the brakes and...

Going on Short Vacation to Myrtle Beach

We only have a few days and wanted to go some where cooler but don't have time and money for gas, MB is only 2 hours away and as long as the air condition works and the phone doesn't I'll be satisfied. Kids can go to the beach, I can spend some time telling stories on the forum. Ron

    IHC 2pt, 3bottom plow

I have a mid 1950s 2pt, 3 bottom IH plow that is missing a couple of trash boards. The one plastic trash board that is on the plow works well. Does anyone know where I can purchase a couple of those plastic trash boards? New or good used are acceptable.

    Its finally our turn

Everyone on this forum who bales hay has had their hay rained on at one time or the other. We started baling our own hay several years ago and up to today our hay had never been rained on. At least twice this year we had a thunderstorm move through less than an hour after getting hay put up...

    Towing one tractor with another

Go to the front of the tractor, side view, where is the leverage.and weight, if you tie onto the front end below the frame I wouldn"t pull on it any more than you yourself can pull. Ok.. it will take a little more than that but not much.

    Saw tooth speed control question

Build up the lever with hard surfacing rod. It will be hard to grind into proper shape. It will last much longer but over time you will have to do it again.

    Governor adjustment

While you are checking for the grooves on the washer also look for the place on the weights that run on the washer it may be flat there, when it is supposed to be rounded (I think that this adds to the response you are describing). I have rounded these by grinding. When I priced the new ones I...

    governor mystery?

Go to a steam power farm show. Watch the fly ball governor spread and draw in as the load changes. They are out in the open on those old steam engines. It is interesting. I had worked on them on tractors and been told how they worked. But to see it in action.

    Super A running hot

Is it losing water? If you fill if level full or close even it will lose water. Put a thermometer in the top and check the temp. Thermosyphon will naturally run at 180 degrees. What kind of load are you putting on the tractor?

    Water in the engine oil

Drop the pan and put a piece of white cardboard, like a baler twine box, under it. When you get back to it you may see where to look for the leak. If its down by the piston it can be a head gasket or a cracked head but these generally leak slow enough that it may not show up on the cardboard. If...
