    If your air filter was saturated in gas,check your engine oil the crank case could be full of gas. Also check the fuel pet cock.Not familiar with polaris but some other brands use a vacuum fuel valve and if the diaphragm is cracked it will suck raw gas into the intake.

    Bought a '53 jubilee and although it starts and runs pretty good,on flat land at least,it doesn't like going uphill but will in reverse. So ,looks like the tank will get drained and see if I have a floater. The lift works but is slow and the pto doesn't work so when I pull the top off the lift...

    Have you checked the radiator for combustion gases? A head gasket problem can build up a lot of pressure and cause that problem.

    Thanks. I have always wondered about it after watching you tube videos of old tractors powering by belt. That definitely makes sense.

    An easy way to check distributor placement is to pull the #1 plug and slowly turn the engine over with your finger over the plug hole. When you feel the compression coming up check the rotor position how it compares to the distributor cap.
