I have a '51 8N and the left lift arm for the three point is slightly bent. Can I take it off and straighten it out or is it better to leave it be. Lift works good. Thanks, Brad

    Price on Mower?

Have a question, and anyone that could help me out would be much appreciated. I am looking at buying a riding lawn mower at an upcoming auction sale and was wondering what a fair price would be. JD F735 front deck mower, 60” commercial deck, diesel, hydro, rear weights, shows 456 hrs. That is...

    Case 630 Hydraulics

My Case 630 Diesel Tripl-Range NF has an Eagle Hitch. Everything works fine on the tractor, except that the lift arms don't go up or down. Where should I check the hydraulic fluid level? If low, does it take Hy-Tran or something else? Anything else I should look for? Thanks for any answers...

    Why old left

This forum is one of the BEST I have ever seen! When I bought my 1949 Cub I knew nothing about the tractor and have been helped immensely by kind knowledgable people on this forum. I too hope that Old returns as well as others who have stopped posting. Such knowledge and even wisdom is always...

    Cub fuel strainer position

Thank you. I will look through my collection of taps and see if there is a 3/8 inch pipe tap among them. I may have to buy one. Once I get the electrical circuits working again , that is. It may be a couple of days.

    Cub fuel strainer position

Thank you for the good advice. I decided to wait until the hood was on before attaching the fuel strainer. So... I proceeded to put the hydraulic lift on for the first time and in the process did not remove the throttle rod although I did remove the choke rod. When I got done the tail light was...

    Cub fuel strainer position

Thank you very much to the folk who clued me that the hexagonal protrusion beneath the fuel tank was a foreighn object. This morning I took a wrench to it and off it came. I chased the threads in the bottom of the fuel tank with a 5/8X18 tap (or maybe it was a 9/16X18). Then the fuel strainer...

Cub gas tank to fuel filter

I thought it was time to put the fuel strainer onto the bottom of the Cub fuel tank. The one I have, which is supposed to be for a Cub, will not fit on the hexagonal piece below the fuel tank. Can someone assist? I looked in all my manuals and books and do not see exactly how the fuel strainer...

    1952 Farmall Cub Engine question

My '49 Cub distributor cap has a #1 at the number one wire position. From there the wires are attached clockwise per the numbers on the left side of the engine. Good luck with your Cub. I like that little tractor a lot.

    Cub radiator draining

This evening I went to my Tractor Building and looked at the Cub. Where the drain plug goes I have a ........ petcock. That answers my question. It opens easily, very easily, and sprays coolant on my leg like a feisty dog. Not recently, but it did get me a month or so ago when I turned the...

    Cub radiator draining

Soon I am going to drain and flush the radiator on my '49 Cub. There is a petcock at the base of the radiator (I think) and also I think there is a plug at the base of the front end. Is it best to drain from that plug if'n I can get it out?? That makes more sense to me. What do you experienced...

Cub - to flush or not to flush

After I got the fire out from the inside of the radiator I decided that my nreves are too fragile for using a torch to solder the overflow tube to the radiator neck. Once it cooled I used JB Weld epoxy to fasten the tube in place. Is it a good or bad idea to drain the radiator and use a...

    dirty plugs after 10-20 min.

When I rebuilt my '49 Cub carburetor it dripped gasoline too so I adjusted the float to have a bit more upward pressure and have had no further leaks. There is just one adjustment for mixture on my carburetor. I think mine is set at about 1 1/2 turns from closed. The manual said to start at one...

    Temple Texas Tractor Show

I attended the tractor show for a while. It was Farmall heaven. There were some oldies too. Ever seen a Titan or an Oil Pull? How about a BF Avery? I posted some pictures on my blog. www.tractorstories.blogspot.com Michael

Cub won't go in sub-freezing weather

I won't go in sub-freezing weather either. However; I agree with the others and suggest you look for water in the transmission. I had fluid with water and it looked like tan paint.
