Another thought on quick release ORC

I want a quick release PTO shaft for my King Kutter brush hog, but one with a built on ORC. I don't want an ORC on the tractor except when running the cutter. The pin type ORC just takes to long to remove. So, does anyone make an implement PTO shaft with an ORC that has a quick release? I...

    OT: Please help identify…

The stantions in our dairy barn were hand made from lumber. Basically just a 2x4 on one side that pivoted with a pivoting lock piece on top.

Are these overrun couplers any good?

Good price. Probably means they are no good. http://agsupplyonline.com/.sc/ms/cat/PTO%20Accessories--Kwik-D-Tach%20Splined%20Adaptor I'd like a quick connect if well made. Couplers

my experience with a twisted axle (8N)

I guess there's no way to edit a post?? I looked at the new format and didn't see anything there either for editing.

my experience with a twisted axle (8N)

It would NOT come out the rear of the tractor. So, here is what I did. Dropped out the hydraulic fluid. Took off the left and right inspection plates under the seat. Wiggled a trouble lamp into the right side hole. Removed the left rear wheel (for easier access). Used a Saws-all to cut...

    Ford and New Holland

So, when did Ford end and New Holland take over?

    What's this 1951 8N Funk conversion worth?

Well actually, Dell, it was my carelessness that caused the PTO shaft to twist. I was running in 1st gear, hi range, at low engine rpm till I hit this heavy patch. It was hot, I was tired, and I was almost finished. I switched it to 3rd gear, low range, and increased the engine rpm. Doing...

    8n PTO Shart

Thanks. I found a pic of a 2000 series PTO shaft and sure enough that was what was sent and in a box labeled with the 8N part number.

    What's this 1951 8N Funk conversion worth?

I forgot to say that it also has a hi/lo Sherman in good working condition. The radiator cowling got tore off by the fan blades but it does not leak. Going through a ditch at an angle, the tractor torqued a little and the blade caught the cowling. A new radiator has been on my to-do list for...

    What's this 1951 8N Funk conversion worth?

Including the brush cutter. Been using it to mow 15 acres twice a year for the last 5 years. Engine starts on first turn and no smoke. Two new front tires and one new on rear. I have all the origional components (I put on a washable air filter) Am replacing the twisted PTO shaft now...

    8n PTO Shart

Anyone offhand know the total length of the PTO shaft and the length of the splined part on the front end of the shaft? Not at the tractor and I think I was shipped a shaft for a 2000 series.

    OT: Fire Ants

Here's a couple of 'fitting' treatments for fire ants. 1) scrape off the top with a LONG handled hoe exposing the hole and pour melted lead into the hole. Might take half a coffee can full. Then dig up the lead and mount it on a board and put it in your shop. Good conversation piece and a...

    CountyLine Vs King Kutter

Found the answer to my question. Seems TSC just uses the CountyLine label for stuff they get from King Kutter. But, that makes me wonder if they may use that label for products they get elsewhere too. "CountyLine" is apparently strictly a TSC only label. Will a 8N handle a 30" dirt scoop?

    CountyLine Vs King Kutter

I notice that TSC is no longer showing King Kutter implements on their web page; showing CountyLine instead. However those implements I compared look to be identical. What gives? Interested in a 24" dirt scoop.
