    #2 does go to output stud. Also have a wire that goes to the ammeter from the main output stud. #1 goes to right side of resistor block. I am at a loss here.... thanks

    ok.... you are right ... kinda I wired the BAT. side of the key switch to the bottom post on my resistor block (battery to starter swich and ammeter also wired to this bottom post). Other side of ammeter is wired to main post on Altenator. I wired the key switch IGN. side to the right side...

    My grandfather always had Ford tractors, prolly because he owned a dealership (Kabota too) and that Ford's were very popular in Western NC. That being said, I love my 9N. I like tinkering on old stuff, have a very small patch of land that I hobby farm and ofcourse the fact this tractor suits...

    Ammeter with a 12 volt altenator

    One wire comes from the altenator... where does the second wire connect to? The short wire was hooked up to thin air and don't know if it hooks up to the ignition switch or not.... Thanks

    1941 9N front mount distributor and 12 volt altenator. My ammeter does not work on my tractor and for my B-day my darling wife bought me a new ammeter from TSC (good woman I tell ya). Will an ammeter work with a 12 volt system or should I return it and get a volt meter instead? Thanks
