    8n running rough

Have you been able to solve your problem michaelthorne75? I am having the exact same problem. I have not made any carb adjustments yet. It runs pretty good from idle to about 1300 rpms, then gets rough real quick. Just curious what you came up with. Thanks

    8N finally started

8N, Side Mount, 6 volt. Cut off on me over two years ago, and I gave up on trying to get it started. Started messing with it again first of October and finally got her started today 10-16. I think a lot of my problem was spark plug and coil wires. I had it serviced at a dealer 3 years ago...

    8n won't start

I got a plug tester, so I'll test the plugs to see if I have spark. I removed the drain plug from the bottom of the carb and had good flow with gas on 2 turns. I've got to drain the gas again as I now have a leak in the off-on screw of the sediment bowl. After I fix that I'll get back to testing...

Side mount distributor. Positive ground battery. Wiring was replaced a couple of years ago. Starter cranks, just doesn't even try to start. Thanks for responding.

    8n won't start

My side mount, 6 volt '51 8n won't start. I drained old gas after it sat for a couple of years, put in new spark plugs (Autolite AL437), new points, distributor cap, rotor, condensor & battery. SOB still doesn't start. Cranks good, have continuity across point when open, key off. have 6volts...

    8N Restart

Do you use it at all your gas joints? IE: such as elbow screen where it goes in the carb? or the gas line where it connects to the sediment bowl and the carb? Thanks

    8N Restart

Drained the gas tank and surprisingly looks pretty clean inside, what I can see shining a light in there (tank is only about 5 years old). Getting ready to reinstall the sediment bowl in the tank. Do I need any kind of sealant on the threads where it goes in the tank? If so, any recommendations...

    Float charger

Turns out I have a Schumaker model 600 automatic charger. Good for 6 or 12 volts with automatic shut off. Is this the same as a float charger? If not, what is the difference? Thanks
