Super major diff locked on permanently.

Had to wait a long time for a 38mm socket to take rear wheel off. But have got it to this point. See photo (hopefully). The brake housing is off and can see the bearings. The sprung pin that can be pushed that should activate/deactivate the diff lock can be pulled out I think with no...

Super major diff locked on permanently.

I took the flat cover off the pedal spindle (is that the right word?) today. The small piece of metal that should be fixed to the spindle was just loose on the spindle. Ie the bolt has been removed. The rod that should be pushed in and out seemed fine, ie I could push it in and it would...

Super major diff locked on permanently.

Ok thanks, I'll have a look for them. Wasn't sure how in depth the operators manual would go, but it'll be very handy anyway. Very impressed with how fordson seemed to have made this tractor in a way that things are quite easy to get to and look at.

Super major diff locked on permanently.

Thanks for that info. I'll try to have a closer look soon at the pedal etc. Check there's nothing obvious. I think you will be right though and I'll have to dismantle the brake and go from there. Waiting for an operators manual to arrive at the moment, and will try to find some workshop...

Super major diff locked on permanently.

Just bought a super major. Fantastic tractor. Can't believe it is 60 this year. Condition seems generally very good. The one big issue is the diff lock is always on. The pedal moves up and down, but to no effect. The pedal can be moved by hand to either position ( or somewhere in...

    Mf135 rev counter.

Thanks Bob. Hope I have this right... Looks like an oil seal is missing/broken. Oil has worked it's way through the cable and into the tacho. Until the tacho stopped working. Did seem odd that engine oil should be present in the tacho. Regards, nick.

    Mf135 rev counter.

One other thing, after leaving it face down on the side overnight, I noticed oil has come through and coveted some of the inside of the glass.

    Mf135 rev counter.

Here's a photo ( hopefully) of my French mf135 rev counter. Forget that. Just noticed file is too big. Fairly sure the cable from the camshaft (?) To the rev counter works. Which means this doesn't. Tried clamping the small round attachment on the back in a drill. No effect. Can the rev...

    Mf135 start switch.

Just to update this in case anyone has the same issue in future... The answer seems to be the correct starter switch is item no. 5061 if you get it from agriline. It is a four Terminal switch that will work for a 135 with an alternator conversion.

    Mf135 start switch.

Ok thanks David P. That could be useful. And Jim, that sounds like a good idea if it remains a bit unclear. Agriline send overseas so they should know what the connections should be. Will try to have a closer look at the start switch that is currently on the tractor. See if I can find out...

    Mf135 start switch.

Thanks for the extra info on that. All looks fairly clear except for 1 thing... My new starter switch (agriline partno. 50777) has terminals 1, 2 and 3. Terminal 1 has two tabs. I'm fairly sure that... Terminal 1 is the brown 12v wire connection. Terminal 2 is to the thermostart...

    Mf135 start switch.

Started looking at my tractors problems at last. Mf 135 diesel. French built. It does start with heat but needs some attention. First I wanted to reconnect the thermostart. But the wire to the thermostart has been disconnected. The start switch has been connected to the alternator. The...

    Mf135 won't start

Just a quick update... Tried bleeding the filters and the pump. But made no difference. The next proper step is to get new filters and new fuel. But before that I tried using some heat to start it which worked. Usually does I suppose. Done that a couple of times and let it run for approx...

    Mf135 won't start

Thanks for all that extra info John Deere. Always useful to have pics. I'll give it a try as soon as I can and let you know how things go. To Davidp, the Brexit fiasco and the kids ages (not to mention property prices, weather, and land at 1k per acre) sort of sealed it for us after 15...

    Mf135 won't start

Ok thanks for all that info. I'll start trying all that as soon as I can, which won't be straight away as although I see getting the tractor running as a priority, I don't think the boss does. She has other plans for me. But I'll try it all as soon as I can. Maybe I'll get a heat gun and try...
