    Fenders on a 560

I have seen Massey Fergeson flat top fenders on a Farmall 300. I think that he fabricated brackets to mount them. I once owned a Farmall 450 that had Oliver flat top fenders on it (1600 or newer Oliver)

    656 fuel/water gauge

Maybe you have checked these things - but two other possibilities come to mind. 1) Is it the gage that is bad or the sending unit? You should be able to use an ohm meter to test the sender. No sense in replacing the gage if the sending unit is shot. The IT manual does not have any info on...

    IH Part number ID

I copied your number and searched Messicks and Case IH and it did not show. A browser search brought up a Komatsu part called a STOP, but no photo or idea of where it was used. Neal

    560 heaT riser importance

The heat riser is part of the intake manifold. The two manifolds join together around the heat valve. You can find photo in the items the YT has for parts. Farmall, 560, exhaust, intake manifold. YT does not have the heat valve plate, but I have seen it on other parts sites. Normal...

    560 heaT riser importance

You do not need to fix it if you like reaching for the choke when you ask for power or rpms. I have limped by on the 460 (same setup) and until it is quite warm, the choke is often deployed. I recently replaced the missing spring, and it is less fussy now. The spring winds counterclockwise...

    roll pins

Often a double roll pin is used. This greatly increases the shear capacity. You might find one that fits inside the one that fits the shaft.

    IH 460 oil filter leak

I had the same issue the last time I changed oil in the 460. Went to steal the copper crush washer from the non-running 656, but the bolt size was smaller. I cut two washers from a cereal box, putting one on either side of the copper washer. I guess I need to buy a new copper washer for the...

    350 / 460 axle size

If the tires are compatible with the 460 rims, spend the money to change them to the 460. Especially if the 460 tires are older and checked. That will be much less expensive than new tires later.

    350 / 460 axle size

I measured the 460 rowcrop axle at 2.75" this morning.

    Plumbing a Loader 504U

Any other power beyond plate that I have seen as I researched this had two ports. One for pressure and one for the return. It would replace the blank plate and provide the return. Several venders have them. Some are cast and some are machined out of plate. Either one should work.

    300U hydraulics

Start with the screen and filter - low hanging fruit. Not working in the cold makes me think water in the hyd. oil. That said, cold will cause slow hydraulics even with new oil. Neal

Farmall 656 Oil filter base valves (pete 23 and any othe

I was able to do a diagnosis on the oil filter base on the 1965 656 today. I removed the canister and filter. I noticed a spring in the canister bolt threads (return), so removed the check valve to see down the supply side. I used a stiff wire with about a half inch 90 hook to feel into the...

    1968 Farmall 656 issues

Good fuel flow can be intermittent. There could be crud in the tank that blocks the flow occasionally. Recently had the issue on the 460. I could keep it running with the choke until I returned to the barn to tear into it. All kinds of junk, even in the petcock orifices. All other...

Farmall 656 Oil filter base valves (pete 23 and any othe

Thank you, Pete 23. The steel disks (the part number Farmall Pete posted) is now $100 to $115. The pressure regulating spring is $60 to $80. The other two springs are less than $10 each. Gaskets are $10 to $25. The high end is teh Case-IH price. I will be calling two other places to see...
