5000 water leak
So the threaded plug behind the flywheel has rusted a hole in it and I can t get it to turn to replace it Should I drill it out or try to weld the hole up It looks like cast iron with 1 1/8 hex in the center -

Balancer gear broke and damaged the crank gear Has anyone run without the balancer by blocking the oil passage or should I replace the crank and balancer I know the old hundred series people would leave the balancer out -

My fix for 4200 steering
The large seal on the center spindle is NA so I found a V ring that I made fit with a homemade adapter that I fastened on the spindle that allows the V ring to seal against the original seal counter bore. Also discovered that tractors with wide front axle only use two bolts in spindle and the... -

does it have dual power? I had to clean metal chips from item 10a in the diagram Then the pressure was steady like it should be. -

I hope someday I could get my 4200 to look that nice. I also have the louvered hood and thought maybe a 5000 hood could be trimmed shorter on the front edge if the rest lined up? I found another 4200 that I just had to have but its also a gasser. They must have not made many diesel row crops...
