    '53 Jubilee hyd.

Oil level is full, appears to have the original pump, when we raised the 3 pt today I could feel the arms pulsing as they went up. The arms stay up with engine off and no load on the arms, other than my 200 lbs. I'm not exactly sure when the problem started as this is my Dads tractor, it hasn't...

    '53 Jubilee hyd.

Is there a filter or screen for the hydraulic system that needs to be serviced? Three point will not raise completely right away with a blade attached. It will raise over time. Need some help troubleshooting this. John

    730 front axle pivot pins

Thanks, I was planning to rebush the rear pin. The front one is the one that might be a problem as it didn't have any remnants of the bushing left. I also need to get the adjustable axle loosened up as one side is out farther than the other. From what I've read this will be quite a job. I'll...

    730 front axle pivot pins

My 730 has the John Deere square adjustable front axle, and the front bushing is gone. I'm assuming that the pin or hole, maybe both are worn. Is there any place to buy these pins? The rear pin is worn some it measures 1.491" and should be between 1.494-1.495 according to the book. Also one of...

    730 power steering fluid

Drained the power steering on my 730 today, oil was dark and thicker than what I'm used to. Book says John Deere power steering fluid, what grade oil is this and what would be a good equivalent? Sure made a mess, doesn't look like a clean way to do that though. John

    730 radiator removal

Do most of you remove the radiator with the water pump still attached? Looks like the best way but the line from the pump to the upper water pipe doesn't want to come out. Any pointers would be welcome.

    50's John Deere paint primer

Have been working with my '58 730 and noticed that the back side of the dash and the main case are yellow under the green paint. The pulley shield and some other pieces attached to the main case are also yellow underneath. Was wondering if this was the primer or if the parts came from an...

    730 engine smoke

Thanks, after I get the radiator fixed I'll have to check out the fuel system. John

    730 engine smoke

It is black smoke, how much ATF should be in 20-25 gallons of fuel? I assume this is for lubrication purposes only, would Marvel Mystery oil work as well? We would have to turn this tractor up to pull a 4-16. When I was growing up my Dad had an 830 that we pulled a 4-16 with and it could be a...

    730 engine smoke

Hi everyone! First post here, just brought home what is supposed to be a '58 730 SN 7303349. It is a row crop with PTO, 3 pt, single hyd., and JD adjustable front axle. Drove it around some and it will smoke like its under load in 5th going down the road. Also found that the radiator leaks and...

    long stabilizer pins/digger pins

Yes, I believe so. The standard ones have only about 3/4" usable length.

    long stabilizer pins/digger pins

No, these go under the rear axle in place of the standard stabilizer pins. As far as I know the long ones are only used for the Dearborn post hole digger. They should have a usable length of at least 2 1/4".

    long stabilizer pins/digger pins

I"m trying to find the long stabilizer pins to install a Dearborn post hole digger on a "53 Golden Jubilee. The Speeco # is 7024400, but I can"t find anybody that has one. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, John
