    8N ORC and Slip Clutch?

Ok, thanks. Now I just have to figure out how to measure the right length for the implement PTO shaft as it didn't have one from the auction.

    8N ORC and Slip Clutch?

I have a 5ft brush hog on my 8N and after I got this tractor I ended up twisting the tractor PTO shaft. Then I read about ORC's and put one on after replacing the tractor PTO shaft. Just bought a post hole digger at an auction and getting ready to set it up on the tractor. I did some...

Brush Hog Top Link and Limiter Chain Location

Hey, thanks for straightening me out on the rocker. I guess I read something wrong somewhere on that. It has been way too many years since I last worked with a plow on an 8N (like 1967) and then it was already set up for me. My dad had an 8N when I was a kid but since he replaced an old John...

Brush Hog Top Link and Limiter Chain Location

So, for a plow, I get that you put the top link in the top hole of the rocker and set the 3 point to draft control. However, i don't know how to use the other two holes. My only other implements using the 3 point is a brush hog and back blade. My disk is a pull behind. I know I should run...

Slow Lift Arm Leak Down 8N

So, I loaded up my heavy 6 foot brush hog. It holds in the up position as long as the tractor is running. It is hard to see inside the inspection port since the tire is on and I have a jungle gym front loader on it. I used my cellphone to get a video of the tube from the bottom to the top...

Slow Lift Arm Leak Down 8N

So, a while back I did a major rebuild on the hydraulics but due to a number of factors, I only just started to use the tractor again. I rebuilt the hydraulic pump and replaced the PTO shaft. I completely rebuilt the upper controls including a new lift cylinder and lift piston. The piston I...

    8N Hydraulic Lift Issues Again

So, I rebuilt everything in the top cover including a new cylinder and the new style piston and seal. Did my best to get it adjusted correctly. I also rebuilt the pump with new scotch yokes, bushings and new pump piston block assemblies. I installed the new pressure relief valve. When I...

Are All Overrun Clutches Created Equal?

No unfortunately. I didn't see the one on here when I was looking.. Found it after I had already made the purchase elsewhere. Normally I buy here.

Are All Overrun Clutches Created Equal?

Thanks. My new PTO conversion shaft didn't have a cover with it and when I bought the tractor it didn't have one. Right now the ORC is in my shop on the bench and my tractor us under a roof so out of the weather. I need to find what cover will work with my new PTO shaft...

Are All Overrun Clutches Created Equal?

I just received the quick release one that I ordered here on Yesterday's Tractor. It slid right on and locked just fine. Came back off just as easy. I haven't connected it to the brush hog yet to try it out but looks great at this point...

Are All Overrun Clutches Created Equal?

Oops, my bad... One of those days for brain fade I guess.... I put in a conversion shaft that changes it to a 1 3/8 output shaft..

Are All Overrun Clutches Created Equal?

In my case, with the complete rebuild on my hydraulics and the need to cut the shaft out, I installed a new conversion shaft so the 1 1/8 to 1 1/8 will work on mine. I just ordered the quick release one from this site.

Are All Overrun Clutches Created Equal?

Thanks for the info... I found it here on this site... https://www.yesterdaystractors.com/S23639_Overrun-Coupler-with-Quick-Release_28714.htm?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIzOv9qYKI7QIVuD6tBh0Gzg8DEAQYASABEgI0R_D_BwE

Are All Overrun Clutches Created Equal?

There is a large range in prices for overrun clutches out there... Now that I have completely rebuilt my hydraulics and put in the new conversion PTO shaft, I do not want to use my old clutch and would prefer a new one to help ensure the PTO shaft doesn't get damaged again (hopefully). I do...

Rebuild Complete Lift Arms A Little High - 8N

Thanks for the measurements. I did a quick check on mine (it was raining heavy) and the adjustable arm on the right side went down to about 11 inches and the non adjustable one on the left side went down to about 13 inches. The adjustable one was adjust all the way to the top of its travel so...
