New John Deere Zero Turns
I have a J.D. 665 with a 60" mower deck. Yea I know it's not the biggest or the best but it mows great. A buddy of mine has a J.D. 757 the other friend has a Bad Boy, they all have a rough ride. I see that the Ferris Zero Turn is advertised as the only mower with a independent suspension.- pauldeere

John Deere 60 Experts
Who knows when the wheels were switched from the window style. I understand that the window wheels were a thinner cast and were prone to cracking. As for weight of your tractor my owners manual says 5300 Lbs.- pauldeere

1950 B upper water pipe bolts
If, like you say the bolt is broken off below the surface, Clean the bolt as best as you can. Locate the center of the bolt. Center punch the center. Try drilling with a small bit, Important, do not allow the bit to wander from the center. When you get through the bolt check the size of the...- pauldeere

1950 B upper water pipe bolts
I did the same thing on a #60 except on the pulley side. Fortunately there was enough of the broken bolt sticking up to get a pair of vice grips on. Heating the area around the bolt with a torch, the broken bolt backed out.- pauldeere

Deere Prices, Another Disapointment.....
Here's the icing on the cake. I called a vendor that I have done business with in the past that has given me great service. They told me that they did not have the gasket in stock but would have it shipped to me directly from Deere. Cost 13.00 ......Go figure...- pauldeere

Checked with NAPA, was told buy someone that NAPA does not handle Valve cover gaskets only, however the do have a head set which consist of head gasket, Intake manifold gasket, Valve cover gasket 95.00- pauldeere

Called my Deere dealer today for a valve cover gasket for the #60. Was told $32.00..."WoW" Now we are talking about a cork gasket......Question #1 has anyone used silicone rather than a gasket on a valve cover with good results......Question #2 Does anyone know a source with a down to earth...- pauldeere

Battery Tender
It's apparent when most people hear the term Battery Tender they think it's a generic term given to any battery charger. Nothing could be further from the truth. I have at least 6 Battery Tenders hooked to all my seasonal equipment. I have never had any battery failures including over charges... -

CC permit holders
I carry for my own personal safety, to protect myself and family. I'm not so nieve to think that someone will come to my aide in a split seconds notice should the occasion happen. What does this mean, Go Figure, Need I say more. -

Overcharged 6 volt battery
Bob, you say the "B" is pos. ground, how did you connect the charger? I use nothing but Battery Tenders if they are connected wrong they will flash a reverse polarity code.- pauldeere

60 water pump possibly...???
