    135 MF

I live in rural Ireland, you'd be surprised how many farmers do their shopping on their 35/135, a couple of beer stops and local gossip collected then away home for dinner. This is what the aul mares (red or grey) was made for.

    MF 135 diesel sounds funny

I repaired one that "sounds like" this. it was number 2 piston, which the piston land had broken on the thrust side of the piston between the top ring and second ring down, about 1 inch was loose between the rings. It could have been like this from new? Saying that, I hope its just a injector...

    MF 40 MF135 Injector pump/ bleeding problem

I worked on these for 13 years when working for the local council, secret is, Keep pumping that lift pump until it streams from both top and bottom bleeders, it takes time and patience and remember this phrase "it aint bled propper until you got diesel dripping from both elbows". Dont totally...

    MF 135 diesel question

Just needs a few days work, valve seats get rusty when stood. just get a saw on the PTO, or something for it to do, a few hours a week, the rust just gets beaten and blown away. Take it for a drive into town instead of the car, start a new craze.

MF 85 LP only running 1/2 throttle

Theres gotta be a governer system (on load/off load) and I'll wager thats yer problem, also check your distributor advance & retard. Is there any smoke from the stack when you go for more than 1/2 throttle? as in blocked air filter. Just a shot in the dark.

MF 35 Deluxe / Live Hydraulics and Powersteering

Yep! thats right. If your engine oils rising up the dip stick at all, its yer steering pump leaking out through its drive shaft seal (commom), failing that its gotta be leaking "out" and you should see oil on the floor, right below where its escaping from, some early 35's with a powered...

    Compression Test

Good advise our farmer! I use an airline adaptor, its home made, has a short rubbered taper on the end and a quick release airline fitting on the other end, handle piece in the middle has to be enough to grip & push with hand. I pull an injector, push the short taper into the hole in the...

    massey 65 diesel engine rebuild

I'd say its a Perkins, if your head has 4 triangular plates bolted to the exhaust side of the head, these are pre combustion chambers and make that engine indirect injection, the injectors point/deliver into these chambers. The direct injection engine has dished piston crowns with a sharp point...

    MF135 Transmission Oil Filter

I'm talking 1985, 135, and yes thats the one. Last time I did one, I lifted the whole top cover (with seat attached) and really got in there, but only because the customer asked to see what was inside there. Lowering the whole thing back down is a verry verry carefull job. a few levers to...

    MF135 Transmission Oil Filter

Transmission oil filter for the hydraulic pump, remove the round metal plate down by the drivers right foot, with a mirror, you will see the filter attached to the hydraulic pump, froward of the hole and inside, mine screws out of the pump with a wrench. The transmission oil itself has to be...

    MF135

Check the big bolt in the centre of the bottom pulley is tight. If it is tight and your bottom pulley is moving in & out more than 6 mm-1/4 inch, your crank thrust bearings are wearing some, but if your drive belt stays OK and your engine does not slow or labour when you press your clutch...

    MF 231 hydraulic lift

If your PTO shaft is spinning when in engine pto speed 540 rpm, then you hydraulic pump has to be spinning too. I' be checking for anciliary valves which divert hydralics to a loader or something different than the lift arms. Failig all thos items, then reach in the hole at the side and screw...

    Stupid three point question.

there is a MF 3 point link yoke that fits to top link and lower arms with a chain that fits underneath you trailer draw bar. Set up correctly, this senses when your rear wheels start to dig in (like when ploughing) and lifts at your trailer towbar to gain traction. These have the Ferguson badge...
