    Turbos always improve fuel but the gains you would get on lighter work would be marginal. Thats my two cents. If you use it for light work where your tractor is not getting above 2000 rpms the turbo is not even really kickin in.

    Those didn"t even come with turbos factory, so a long as you run your intake through the air filter your fine. That being said you can find someone who is parting out a 7700 combine and get the turbo off it and it really makes those tractors come to life.

    G 230 engine

    The d-17 and wd45 diesels were 230. Very desirable engine to have. The parts are out there but they are more expensive because they are a lot rarer.

    could be a valve stuck (or sticking) open. That would cause it but if you timed it with the piston in the wrong stroke it would do that too. I would pull the valve cover off and remike the valves. I think the setting is .012 spacing when the rocker arm is all the way up. I did one and then...

    i would bet its the hydraulic pump too. just make sure the lift lever is down and make sure you have it full of hyd. oil.

    190 Hydraulic oil leak

    I have a 190xt that is leaking around the spline shaft at the top of the lift arm. I thought this area didn't have any pressure on it. I have seen some references on here about a cheap fix involving a tube to even out the reserves on the hydraulics? anybody think they can help me out on a cause...

    I think the float might be sticking on the carb, not letting enough gas in. Have you done any work on the carb recently or just on the mag?

    190 diesel in engine oil

    We had a problem with a 4020 doing this. It was the two gaskets on the injection pump. One gasket keeps diesel out of the oil and the other kept oil out of the diesel. I would start by taking the injection pump off and changing those two seals.

    I have a hand clutch not working on a wd 45, what kind of oil does that take and what are common problems I might look for. Any help would be much appreciated

    wd45 and D17 engines

    we just put an engine in a d17 out of a gleaner e. They can be purchased for about 500 and you have to have you old govenor and i would save the throttle linkage and water pump. That is the route i would go.
