    1996 F250 Codes issue

A while back I posted about the F250 I bought for my son. It was running extremely rich (blowing black smoke, carboned up spark plugs) but the engine codes were showing that it was running lean. I couldn't figure it out and I brought it to one shop that I had been having pretty good luck with...

Hey , I'm not having luck with getting the correct pivot pin for my 1966 ford 3000 tractor, I removed the solid pin to replace with a hollow to run my 730 loader, the first pin I received was incorrect completely by the vender , the 2nd one which replaces part number c5nn3127b is too short...

Can someone tell me the difference in the hoods on a 430 with or with power steering? I see two different part numbers, but would like to know what the physical difference is. Thanks, Mark

Questions on buying loader control valve for tractor

I need to buy a loader control valve for my tractor and have a couple questions. 1. I think my crankshaft run pump puts out 17gpm. I assume I need to get a valve that produces at least 17gpm to get the full benefit of my pump? For example, doing a quick search I'm looking at a 12gpm and a...

    Nason paint code JD Green

Thinking of using Nason urethane single stage on a JD 830 2 Cyl. I've looked through the posts and found a few codes for JD green but they don't come up at my local dealer. Does anyone have a code? I'm thinking of the ag green, but maybe the classic would work as well. Thanks

    SCV Barrel Orings

So in this nifty oring kit JD makes it says to use the orings and backup rings for tractors pre 1970 and the rubber seal/ring/thingy post 70. Wondering if one is better than the other or if the casting is machined different as they both fit the same. Also what are the extra square orings for...

    1086 540 PTO shaft

Nephews had the 540 shaft twist off yesterday. Dealer wants around $1500 to fix it. Wondered if anyone has been into replacing a shaft before. Can it be done by removing the PTO unit from the rear or does the platform have to come off? I've got ideas I might get involved in this thing yet...

I'm going to be helping a neighbor install a replacement Goodman 3 ton heat pump system this Saturday. The evaporator coil is aluminum. It has a copper spin closed cap brazed/soldered/? to the stub where the refrigerant return line will attach. I've never tried to braze to something like...

gosh darn dang nammit tires round 7

Nuther puncture today, same tire. Wonder what the world record for punctures is in a tire. Was lucky today in that I stopped at a rest area and heard it leaking, it was down to 30 lbs and would likely have blown soon. I will probly change this tire out, but wouldn't want to pay to have a tire...

    F20 serial number

Bought the remains of a F20 from the local scrapyard yesterday. Serial number on the frame reads 137313. That's a real late one. It has the factory cast rear rims, foot brakes, and a real nice pto extension. Pleased to find these items. To bad the rest of the tractor was gone. Should help me...
