    39 A spark problem

    If the shaft that opens/closes the points has too much side play, the dwell angle (aka gap setting) will not be stable and cause your problem. Also, I use no more than 7/8 choke and 1/4 throttle setting when trying to hand crank. But that's my experience.

    www.popinjohn.com One thing, whoever you ship it to, be sure to pack it good and tight inside the box, especially around the cap end. Styrofoam peanuts won't work, they shift around too much in travel. It's easy for the cap to get broken in shipping. We use wadded up newspaper a lot.

    Does anyone recognize this carburetor, or know what it fits? The brass tag reads "Wizard Improved Carburetor", Western Auto Supply Co. and some patent numbers.

    How can I get More hp

    buickanddeere is right on the size on the throttle plates between and 60 and 70 carb, and the power jet diameter is the same. However, the main fuel nozzles for a 70 are about 31% larger inside diameter. I'm not so sure that this particular 60 wouldn't pull just as good with a good 60 carb on it.
