    1070 hydraulics

    You probably have them paired wrong. The top 2 work as a pair and the bottom 2 work as a pair. Other option is worn out couplers, either on your hoses or the females.

    Case DB 990 hyd relief fell apart

    Broken at only 50 years? You should take it back to the dealer and demand a refund... I reality, it might be easier to find a whole used valve to replace it with. Replace all the o-rings while you are at it to reduce leaks.

    Case controls on Backhoes...

    When did Case quit using "Case Controls" on the backhoes? was it all at once or did they offer both at the same time? I know of a couple "c" era machines with joysticks, and other C era ones with "cc"... I had always assumed that the change happened somewhere in that range. BUTTT...

    Its funny how those of us in western PA identify as being from western PA, and not just PA... I'm in Mercer county and have a 770 also.

    Case David Brown 1210 Simms Injector Pump Install

    Make sure you change the oil in the pump. Very likely why it had to come off in the first place. No one seems to know that it needs to be done, pumps end up over full of a diesel oil mix and get ruined.

    Case 511b radiator

    I think I have a couple from a 600B in western PA. Probably very similar. I have an issue just as Joe describes, where the radiator in the tractor doesn't work with the tin I want to use.

    Crops and work updates

    The lighting is really good. Almost like it was shot with an old school film camera. Nice to see a different part of the world. Rained out here in PA. Got across 40 acres with the 1570 and chisel this morning. Out of fuel at basically the same time the rain came.

    Case 1490 fan belt replacement instruction

    Depending on how worn the drive shaft and coupler are, you "might" be able to sneak a belt between the hub and the pulley. Otherwise the pump has to come out. The socket head cap screws that hose the pressure lines on are the worst part of the job, as they are inevitably packed full or dirt...

    1490 gear oil

    Front axle or rear axle? The planetary front finals I run a 85-140 G5 Gear oil. The rear on a 14 is common to the wet brakes, Need something intended for wet clutches. I use a good quality Hytran.

    Good luck. I needed one years back, couldn't find anywhere. In the end, I made one out of steel that looks pretty good from 10 feet.

    David Brown 780 rear axle seal & final drive seals

    The last few I bought were a common National number matched up by size at the local auto parts store. Make sure your bearing are adjusted right or the new ones will fail quickly.

    Case 1290 White Paint?

    Power white is correct. The Brit paint was officially called "Orchid white", but same color as power. Who knows what has been done too it paint wise in the last 40 years.

    Injection pump for Case 990 by David Brown

    The 990 always had a CAV DPA pump. 1200 and bigger 4 cylinders had the SIMMS/Minimec or a Bosch inline. DPA pumps are cheap as far as injector pumps go.

    DB990 Clutch Access Question

    I seem to remember reading that a 6 speed tractor could be pulled without splitting, but not a 12. I have never owned or worked on a 6 speed 990, so I don't know. In my opinion it is easier to split one than all the monkeying around removing the top covers.
