    Mechanic

Hello, I was wondering if someone could suggest a good mechanic in the Burlington WI area. I posted awhile ago about a seized 1030 that has a spun bearing. Since, I have bought a block with a good crank in it, but I don't have the needed equipment or shed to split the tractor, plus I don't trust...

    Stuck 1030

Jon, the previous owner ran it with water in the oil, everything looks good on the lower end of the engine so I suspect it's the pistons that are froze. I read back into the archives about having the front end off the ground on one of these trying to get the piston out, may have been one of your...

    Stuck 1030

Over the winter I bought a stuck 1030. Before I bought it I pulled the oil pan and found all the crank bearing appeared to be okay. I want to put somesort of oil (trans fluid or kroil) into the cylinders to free it up. What do you think the best way would be. I was going to pull the injectors...

    Case 1030

Also odd thing is, one rear tire is an 18 and the other is a 20. It was like that when he bought it.

    Case 1030

I was wondering if we were talking about the same tractor, we are. Its not tight, its seized! I made a good offer on it this morning. He moved a little, but not much! You can minus the front weights from the picture, they're happily on my 930.

    seized 1030

I didn't think about the injector pump. I just assumed it has a cracked head, which is no big deal to replace. I made what I thought was a good offer, but that was assuming it spun a bearing and ruined the crank.

Sorry Dan, I posted to the wrong post.

    Case 1030

Yea no doubt it has at least one cracked head, my concern is the crank. Pistons and sleeves is no big deal for me, but if the crank is bad thats a little out of my league!

    seized 1030

Happy new year! I went and looked at a 1030 this morning. My intent was to buy the wrap around front weights for my 930. I bought the weights, but dang it was a nice straight original tractor. The owner was spreading manure 3 years ago and it locked up on him. He said he was draining the water...

    Antifreeze in oil!

dz3, If it were mine I'd pull the pan off and pressurize the cooling system. If you get drips of antifreeze I would say its a good possibilty it is the o-rings on the bottom of one of the sleeves. I don't have as much knowledge as others on this forum, but if the heads are similar to the...

Replacing Hyd Pump Bevel Drive Gears, 20-2290 and Others

1370Rod.........how does the next shaft come out. The one that sits in front of the gear that holds the woodruff key. We were able to get the rear shaft out, bearing, and 90 degree gear. But the front shaft is now in the way of the other 90 degree gear. Thanks in advance.

Case 2290 90 degree charge pump gear removal

Lost. Hydraulics on our Case 2290 and found that the 90 degree gears that turn the shaft to the pumps are wore out. We pulled the pto housing and ww were able to remove the rear most 90 degree gear out the back. Now we our stuck as shaft (possible called the front pto shaft) is In the way of the...

    2390 Suction Screens

We have a 2390 Slipping in powershift 2nd and sometimes hesitates in powershift 3rd. No slipping in powershift 3rd or 1st just 2nd. I have read on here somewhere about cleaning screens, but can"t find were I read it. Plan was to change fluids, new filters, clean spools, and the screens, but...

    930 heads A20957 instead of A33613

John, I haven't done anything to the heads yet. The tractor had water in the oil and that is why I suspect a cracked head. The number one piston was pitted as well as the head. I'm going to have all of them pressure tested to make sure everything is good. As far as what caused it, I dont know...
