Broken valve spring
I thought of that. I was wondering how much room between head and piston? I should be able to compress the spring enough to get the keepers in if the piston is at tdc. I thought if the piston drops down if I have a dowl and a drop of jb weld I could pull the valve up. Just trying to think...- rlsprothero

Broken valve spring
I have a John Deere 310 A tractor. I have a broken valve spring. I believe it's the exhaust valve because the engine is backfiring out the intake. I pulled the valve cover and sure enough it's the first spring. I changed broken valve springs on gas engines where I put air in the cylinder...- rlsprothero

John Deere 310A
Hay guys I got in my 310A backhoe after it had sat all winter. To find I have water that got in the cylinders. I'm pulling the injectors to inch the engine over with the fly wheel.
