High Oil pressure and rear main seal problem on 850 ford

I too had that problem, until I found out the wrong oil pump was installed. When I had it majored, they installed the diesel oil pump rather than the gas oil pump. Diesel is set for 100 lbs, gas is set for 45 lbs. Changed pumps, problem solved!!

    Choke Rod - Ford 850

Glenn, I turned the center guide out so their is always tension on the choke rod. That way, if the engine is cold, their is no need to constantly hold the choke open until the engine is warmed up. Bob

    Rear main seal

Glenn,I"ve run the tractor for about 30 minutes, and bone dry. One of the other problems was the wrong oil pump.It had the diesel oil pump puting out 100 p.s.i. Put in the right pump which puts out 45 p.s.i. That should take a lot of pressure off of the seals. I will be puting it to work next...

1965 Ford 4000 PTO will not shut off.

If you can turn the pto with the engine turned off, you could possibly have oil that is too heavy. I would check that first! Bob

    emblem paint

Jim, The show was great! Had beautiful weather, with lots of tractors to look at. Not to many Fords though. At the tractor pull, a Ford 851 had one of the best percentage pulls. Makes me really want to get mine together and running. I'm not going to the auction, but will be going next month to...
