Ford 3600 3 point question
Two possibilities: The draft control lever is in the wrong position. The top link may not be adjusted properly. I have learned from experience with a Ford 640 and a Ford flail mower that the mower is sensitive to top link adjustment. -

Ford 1900 Overheating
First simple thing to check: Look at the front of the radiator? Debris from tall grass etc. often collects on the front of the radiator when mowing or brush-hogging. That will cause overheating. -

8N loss of power
I strongly suspect you burnt out the Pertronix module. I did that once myself. Very annoying. Pertronix could have included a protection circuit in the module to prevent this, but they didn't. -

Whats a good way to unplug a plugged grease fitting? I have a blocked Zerk fitting on an old Ford flail mower. -

Snowblower on a Ford 640?
I know the Ford 640 is not an ideal tractor for a three-point hitch snowblower. Reverse gear is too fast and there's no two-stage clutch. Still, I wonder -- how bad is the performance for a 60-inch wide blower on maybe a 4 or 6 inch snowfall? I imagine moving 10 or 12 inches or more will be too... -

Ford 600 starter issue
I agree with the recommendation that you check all electrical connections and wires. I had a similar starting problem which, after a lot of connection troubleshooting, turned out to be a bad battery cable which though it passed enough current to show 12 volts on a meter could not pass enough... -

Battery cable replacement
If the starter runs when connecting a new battery and you have ruled out the ignition switch, I'd next look at the solenoid wiring. Somehow the solenoid is being triggered. -

601 Starter issue
I had a very similar problem with a Ford 640. It turned out to be a bad cable from the battery to the solenoid. The cable had enough of a connection to deliver 12v to the solenoid, but could not pass enough current to pull in the solenoid or the starter. The cable looked fine--no corrosion... -

7710 series 2 not cranking
I also had this problem on a 640. It drove me nuts trying to troubleshoot from the battery forward to the starter, because voltage looked good everywhere. It turned out, as another poster also has said, to be a badly corroded starter cable. It looked good on the outside but was very bad inside... -

Ford 600 wont shut off with key.
If your tractor has an after-market ingnition switch, that may be the problem. I've given up on after-market switches after having three in a row fail, and have replaced the key switch with a toggle switch. Problems solved.
