    gas or diesel

I would keep the gas engine. It sounds to me that this would fit your needs and is the easer route.

Dumb Question about a Hand Clutch...

Check the adjustment off the belt pulley brake. If too tight it will not allow clutch to disengage. I would Start with the internal clutch adjustment then do your belt pulley brake adjustment.

    replacing case dc brakes

You should have a brake disk with lining riveted onto it. You can use a drill bit to drill off the crimped side of the rivet. Caution must be used not to drill too far and into the metal disk that the lining is mounted to or else you will never get your rivets set correctly. After you remove...

    DC differentail tune-up

mEL, Thanks for the advice although I'm not real sure of what you were saying about the bearing preload. The book calls for zero play and a slight preload. Are you saying I should preload more or should I preload less? Thanks!!!

    DC differentail tune-up

I’m going through my 1950 Case DC for the upcoming year of tractor shows & pulling. I was having a problem with the tractor drifting to the right and eventually spinning out on the same side with a lot of engine power left. I planned on overhauling the brakes this year for they are rusted up...

    building a hitch

The 5/8 bolt sounds to light to me. Find another drawbar support and cut the angle iron out move it all the way forward and weld a new piece back in. Than drill out new boltholes. (Note the side mounting holes use a large bushing thus large holes are needed) Now bolt a D shaped plate to the draw...

    case dc pistons

mEL: What kind of horse power could I get with a 4-1/16 bore with dome pistons and the 5505 head? As of now I'm working on getting the tractor to stick and not spin out. Once I get there I'll want more HP. I really want torque for now. I'm pulling in a 5,500 lb. 55 hp max class and am thinking...

    case dc pistons

Does any one know what my options are for pistons and liners for a case DC? I would like to keep the block and bottom end stock but use the biggest bore I could get with out selling the farm. I heard of 4020JD pistons and liners how much work is this? Any aftermarket stuff?

    CASE D motor specs.

I believe Paint would be Flambeau Red only, with six-volt system, three forward speeds one reverse. Good luck...

    CASE D motor specs.

If it still has the serial number plate on the dash take the first two digits and subtract 4 this will give you the year. you're 1940 tractor serial number would start with 44*****. Check E-BAY for owners manual you will need one.
